After making it back-to-back winners in Switzerland on Sunday, Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the MLS, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.
⚽️ Chicago Fire vs Orlando City
🇺🇸 MLS
⏰ Thursday 29 October, 00:30
Plenty of entertainment is also expected at Soldier Field on Wednesday night as the Chicago Fire entertain Orlando City in an all-Eastern Conference clash in the MLS.
Gregg Berhalter’s hosts have scored 55 goals across their opening 31 matches in the MLS this campaign, with 28 (51%) of them coming on their travels.
The Fire have found the back of the net in all 15 (100%) of their contests in front of their supporters this term – scoring on multiple occasions in seven of their past 11 – and will be confident of breaching an Orlando defence that has conceded an incredible 50 goals across their opening 15 road trips, shipping 2+ goals in 13 (87%) of them.
Martin Perelman’s visitors have scored 60 goals across their opening 31 fixtures in the MLS this campaign, with 28 (50%) of them coming on their travels.
The Lions have found the back of the net in each of their previous 19 encounters – scoring 2+ goals in each of their last eight and 10 of their past 11 – and will also be confident of continuing their scintillating form in front of goal against a Chicago defence that is without a clean sheet in each of their past 10 MLS clashes in front of their supporters.

Bet of the Day
Orlando City’s opening 15 road trips in the MLS this term have averaged a league-high 5.20 goals per game, with Over 3.5 Goals paying out in an impressive 13 (87%) of them – including in each of their past eight – whilst 10 of their past 12 have also seen goals at both ends.
Chicago’s opening 31 MLS clashes this campaign have averaged 3.26 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score landing in 22 (71%) of them – including in each of their past 10 in front of their supporters.
Three of the Fire’s last five have also gone Over 3.5 – and given the nature of Orlando’s matches in recent months, particularly on their travels – I’m happy to back at least four goals here, with both in-form attacks contributing.
- Both Teams to Score & Over 3.5 Goals
- Pays 10/11 (bet365)
