My Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on the MLS in the early hours of Sunday. Both games are all between sides in the Western Conference.
Minnesota United vs San Jose Earthquakes
🇺🇸 MLS
⏰ Sunday 4th July, 01:00
Minnesota host the San Jose Earthquakes at Allianz Field in the early hours of Sunday. This is a Western Conference match up as Minnesota currently sit in a play off spot in 6th whereas the Earthquakes are second bottom in 12th.
Minnesota come into this fixture on an impressive unbeaten run. After losing their first four games of the season, they’ve now gone six games unbeaten winning four of them. A big reason for their unbeaten run is their improved defensive record in which they’ve kept four clean sheets in those six games. At home Minnesota have won their last three games keeping clean sheets in all three. Minnesota have won their last four meeting against the Earthquakes since March 2019.
SJ Earthquakes come into this content on a horrific run of form. Their 1-3 defeat to LA Galaxy last time out extended their winless run to seven games in which they’ve picked up a solitary point. In that run they’ve only managed to score two goals whilst conceding fifteen. In their last away game they were thumped 5-0 by Orlando City. The Earthquakes have lost three of their five away games failing to score in their last three.
Real Salt Lake vs LAFC
🇺🇸 MLS
⏰ Sunday 4th June, 03:00
LAFC travel to Utah to take on Real Salt Lake at the Rio Tinto Stadium in the early hours of Sunday. This is another Western Conference match up as Real Salt Lake currently occupy the last play off spot in 7th whereas LAFC currently lie in 9th, one point off their opponents.
Salt Lake come into this off the back of a 1-1 draw at Houston Dynamo. That now extends their unbeaten run at home to four games. Salt Lake have scored in five of their six home games scoring eight times. They have also conceded in five of their six home games conceding six times. In fact other than a 0-0 draw at home to Nashville, both sides have scored in their other eight games this season.
LAFC come into this off the back of a 2-1 defeat away to Sporting KC in which they conceded in the 87th minute. Whilst LAFC are winless in their four away games, they have scored in three of them. In fact LAFC have scored in nine of their ten games this season scoring twelve times. Clean sheets is an issue for Bob Bradley’s side as they’ve conceded in ten of their twelve games conceding twelve times. Seven of the twelve goals they’ve conceded have came in their four away games in which they’ve yet to keep a clean sheet in.
Bet of the Day
Minnesota look to extend their unbeaten run and take all three points at home to an out of form SJ Earthquakes. Both Real Salt Lake and LAFC regularly find the back of the net but also rarely keep clean sheets, both sides should be able to find the net.
