Following on from Friday’s winner in LA, Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Finnish top flight, and I’ve highlighted one fixture that appeals to me for goals at both ends.

Two clubs at opposite ends of the Finnish Veikkausliiga table meet at the Hietalahti Stadium on Saturday afternoon as 3rd-placed VPS play host to 11th-placed EIF in a fixture that appeals to me for goals at both ends.
Jussi Nuorela’s hosts have scored 23 goals across their 14 matches in the Veikkausliiga this term, with 13 (57%) of them coming on home soil.
The Vaasa-based club have found the back of the net in all bar one of their opening 14 (93%) league outings – notching on multiple occasions in seven (54%) of them – and should be more than capable of breaching an EIF defence that has recorded just two clean sheets in the league this season, shipping 23 goals.
Last season’s Ykkönen champions, EIF, have scored 13 goals across their opening 13 matches in the Finnish top flight, with eight (62%) of them coming on their travels.
Despite their lowly position, Gabriel Garcia Xatart’s visitors have found the back of the net in all bar two of their league encounters – scoring in 6/7 (86%) of their road trips – and will look to get on the scoresheet once again against a VPS backline that has recorded only two clean sheets in the Veikkausliiga this season.

VPS’s opening 14 matches in the Finnish top flight are averaging 2.93 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score banking in a league-high 12 (86%) of them – and given the same has landed in 10/13 (77%) of EIF’s league outings this term, including in 6/7 (86%) of them away from home – I’m happy to have a punt on both of these sides finding the target, just like they did in the reverse fixture at the beginning of last month.
