After what has been a quiet midweek, The Football Bet of the Day returns on Friday, and it sees me head to the goal-laden Dutch Eerste Divisie – and there is one fixture in particular that appeals to me for goals.

Dutch Eerste Divisie leaders Willem II will look to claim their 14th league victory from their last 16 matches as they welcome 15th-placed Jong Ajax to the Koning Willem II Stadion in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Peter Maes’s hosts are the second-highest scorers in the Dutch second tier, banging in 46 goals across their opening 21 matches, with 26 (57%) of them coming on home soil. The Tricolores have made the net bulge in all 10 of their league contests in front of their supporters – scoring on multiple occasions in nine (90%) of them – and will be confident of adding to their impressive goal tally at home against a Jong Ajax defence that has conceded a league-high 32 goals away from home, shipping a minimum of two goals in 9/10 (90%) of them.
Jong Ajax have scored 33 goals across their opening 20 matches in the Eerste Divisie, with 17 (52%) of them coming on their travels. Dave Vos’ visitors have found the back of the net in all bar two of their league outings this season – scoring on multiple occasions in 10 (50%) of them, including in each of their last five – and will look to find the target once again against a Willem II defence that’s recorded just two clean sheets across their previous nine league matches in front of their supporters.

Jong Ajax’s opening 11 Eerste Divisie fixtures on their travels this season are averaging an eye-catching 4.45 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals clicking in nine (82%) of them – and given the same has landed in seven of Willem II’s previous nine matches in the Dutch second tier on home soil – I’m willing to have a punt on there being a minimum of three strikes in Tilburg on Friday night, with both teams getting on the scoresheet.
