Football Bet of the Day 23rd august

After seeing our winning run end at five after falling a goal short in Germany on Saturday, Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the Scottish Premiership, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

⚽️ Dundee vs Kilmarnock

??????? Premiership

⏰ Sunday 3 November, 15:00

Two clubs separated only by three points in the Scottish Premiership table meet at Dens Park for the second time already this season on Sunday afternoon as 10th-placed Dundee plays host to sixth-placed Kilmarnock in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.

Tony Docherty’s hosts have scored 14 goals across their opening 10 matches in the Scottish Premiership this term, with nine (64%) coming on home soil.

The Dark Blues have only failed to score at Dingwall against Ross County and at Celtic Park against the champions in the league this season – notching on multiple occasions in five (50%) of them – and will be confident of breaching a Killie backline that is yet to register a clean sheet on their travels in the league this season, shipping multiple goals in 5/6 (83%) of them.

Derek McInnes’s visitors have scored 13 goals across their opening 10 Scottish Premiership matches this term, with eight (62%) of them coming on their travels.

After failing to net in any of their opening three league outings, Killie have made the net bulge in each of their next seven – notching on multiple occasions in four of their past six – and will look to trouble a Dundee defence that has recorded a solitary clean sheet in the league this season, remarkably shipping two or more goals in 8/10 (80%) of them.

Bet of the Day

Dundee’s opening 16 matches in league and cup this season have averaged a staggering 3.81 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals banking in an impressive 12 (75%) of them, including in 7/10 (70%) of their Premiership encounters.

Those numbers rise when playing at home, with their eight Premiership and League Cup matches at Dens Park averaging a whopping 4.5 goals per game this season, with Over 2.5 Goals paying out in all eight (100%) of them – and given the same has landed in 5/6 (83%) of Kilmarnock’s Premiership matches on their travels this term – I’m hoping we see a similarly high-scoring encounter to the five-goal thriller these two played at the beginning of the month.

  • Over 2.5 Goals
  • Pays 41/50 (Unibet)
