Two clubs at the wrong end of the Danish Superliga table meet at the Vejle Stadium on Friday evening as rock-bottom Velje entertain third-bottom Sonderjyske in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Mihai Teja’s new side have scored 15 goals across their opening 14 contests in the Danish Superliga this term, with nine (60%) of them coming across his opening five matches in charge of the club.
Despite their position in the table, De Rode have found the back of the net in 10/14 (71%) of their league outings, including in each of their previous six – notching on multiple occasions in three of their past four – and will look to continue their recent improvement against a Sonderjyske side that is yet to register a clean sheet in the league this season, conceding a joint league-high 34 goals.
Thomas Norgaard’s visitors have scored 16 goals across their opening 14 fixtures in the Danish top flight, with six (38%) of them coming on their travels.
Last season’s Danish 1st Division champions have found the back of the net in eight of their previous 10 league outings – notching on multiple occasions in six (60%) of them – and will look to trouble a Velje defence that has recorded a solitary shutout in the league this season, conceding a joint league-high 34 goals.

Sønderjyske’s opening 14 contests in the Danish top flight have averaged an eye-catching 3.57 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals paying out in eight of their last 10 – and given the same has landed in 9/14 (64%) of Velje’s league outings, including in five of their past six – I’m happy to have a play on there being three or more goals, with both teams getting on the scoresheet, a selection that also landed in the reverse fixture in September.
