Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me once more focus on the Nations League fixtures and there’s a match I like the look of for goals at both ends.

Belgium ?? vs Poland ??

?? Nations League

⏰ Wednesday 8th June, 19:45

Two sides who made very different starts to their Nations League campaign meet in Brussels on Wednesday evening, as Belgium play host to Poland at the King Baudouin Stadium.

Belgium began their Nations League campaign with a 1-4 thrashing at home to the Netherlands, with Michy Batshuayi late consolation bringing up Friday’s Bet of the Day. Roberto Martínez’s side went through their World Cup qualifying campaign unbeaten, winning six and drawing two of their eight qualifiers, which saw them finish five points above second-placed Wales. Belgium found the back of the net in all eight of their World Cup qualifiers, scoring 26 goals, with 17 of those coming on home turf. As well as conceding four times against the Dutch last time out, The Red Devils registered just three clean sheets in World Cup qualifying, with two of those coming against bottom side Belarus.

Poland began their Nations League campaign by coming from a goal down to defeat Wales 2-1 in Wrocław. Czestaw Michniewicz’s side W6-D2-L2 in World Cup qualifying to finish in second spot and they then secured their place at this years World Cup by defeating Sweden 2-0 in their playoff final. As well as scoring twice in both their Nations League opener and their World Cup playoff final, Poland found the back of the net in all 10 of their World Cup qualifiers, scoring on 30 occasions. In those 12 matches mentioned above, The Eagles have registered just four clean sheets, with two of them coming at home to San Marino and Andorra.

Bet of the Day

There was a combined total of eight goals in both Belgium and Poland’s Nations League opener’s on Friday and I’m expecting more goals when the pair go head-to-head in Brussels on Wednesday evening. Roberto Martínez’s side managed to grab a late consolation against the Dutch on Friday evening and given they scored 17 times in their four World Cup qualifiers in front of their own supporters, they should at least net against a Poland side who’s only clean sheet away from home in World Cup qualifying came against Albania, with The Eagles even conceding away to minnows San Marino and Andorra. However, Czestaw Michniewicz’s visitors scored in all 10 of their World Cup qualifiers, as well as bagging a brace in each of their last two competitive matches against Sweden and Wales respectively and there’s a good chance they’ll net against a Belgium side that conceded in 5/8 of their World Cup qualifiers, as well as letting in four against the Netherlands last Friday night.
