In this article, we have provided our Fantasy Premier League tips & predictions ahead of Gameweek 27 of the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game.
There are midweek games in the Premier League this time around, so FPL managers need to be aware of the Tuesday deadline as opposed to a normal Friday or Saturday one.
Nonetheless, here are our latest FPL tips that should hopefully help make all of those informed transfer, chip and captaincy decisions needed ahead of the deadline…
Our Fantasy Premier League tips
FPL gives out points based on player performances, which can be both positive and negative. It can range from a player scoring a goal (positions are given more points than others, for example a defender will gain six points for scoring a goal as opposed to four for a forward) or being shown a yellow card (-1pt), as well as many other metrics.
Who to have as FPL captain
In Gameweek 27, if you own him, Mohamed Salah is perhaps the most viable captaincy option given his irresistible form for Liverpool in the 2024/25 campaign, which continued with yet another goal and an assist in their most recent fixture in the impressive 2-0 win away at reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.
However, for those who do not own Salah or want to pick a differential captain, Cole Palmer (£11.1m) could also be a viable option as Chelsea play host to Southampton at Stamford Bridge, with the visitors still struggling at the bottom of the table.
Selection | Market-best price |
---|---|
Cole Palmer to score anytime |

Cole Palmer to score first |

Should the triple-captain chip be used?
Assuming that Salah is the most viable captain choice in Gameweek 27, using the triple-captain chip on him seems very tempting given the big FPL hauls that we know that he is capable of.
However, we would always advise, if it has not been used already, to use the chip in a double gameweek, where teams play more than one fixture and therefore give more of a chance of a big points haul for the captain.
Who is likely to get booked?
After recording a goal and an assist in Liverpool's 2-0 victory at Manchester City over the weekend, Hungary international midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai (£6.3m) could be a popular transfer in for a number of FPL managers. However, he has also picked up a fairly high total of six yellow cards so far in the 2024/25 campaign, so managers should be warned ahead of the Reds' home encounter against Newcastle at Anfield.
Market-best odds on Dominik Szoboszlai to be booked: 9/2
Which defender is most likely to score?
Daniel Munoz (£4.9m) scored his third goal of the season as Crystal Palace beat Fulham 2-0 away from home in their London derby. A home game at Selhurst Park against a fairly leaky Aston Villa defence awaits the Colombian wing-back, who loves to bomb forward.
Market-best odds on Daniel Munoz to score anytime: 17/2
Our top three cheap in-form players
Yankuba Minteh
Yankuba Minteh (£5m) has scored an impressive total of 21 points over the previous two gameweeks, and the Brighton midfielder will relish his side's upcoming fixtures. The Seagulls welcome Bournemouth to the AMEX Stadium next, with the visitors a little fragile having lost 1-0 at home to relegation-threatened Wolves last time out.
Beto
Beto (£5m) seems like the best cheap forward in the game to own right now. Indeed, he has scored no fewer than five times in his last four matches in the Premier League, as Everton travel to Brentford next in one of just a number of favourable fixtures on paper coming up for the Toffees.
Matheus Cunha
If you can afford to splash the cash just a little bit more, then Matheus Cunha (£6.9m) is the forward to buy at the moment in FPL. Indeed, Wolves' Brazilian talisman has found the back of the net no fewer than three times in his last three appearances in the Premier League, as the Wanderers welcome Fulham to Molineux next in the first of a relatively favourable run of fixtures coming up for them.
