Scotland vs Japan (Saturday, 17:00)
Scotland’s friendly against Japan at Hampden on Saturday evening is shaping up to be an entertaining affair.
The Scots will return to the world’s biggest stage this summer after Steve Clarke guided his side to a thrilling 4-2 win over Denmark on the final night of their qualification campaign.
That result was just one of several high-scoring matches involving Scotland during qualifying.
In fact, both teams to score and over 2.5 goals would have been a winning bet in each of the Scots’ last four qualifiers.
Now, up against a Japan side that were prolific in front of goal during their own qualification campaign, goals at both ends look likely in Glasgow.
It’s also worth noting that the Samurai Blue secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over Brazil in a friendly last year, further strengthening the case for both teams finding the net at Hampden on Saturday.
USA vs Belgium (Saturday, 19:30)
The Mercedes-Benz Stadium will play host to an international friendly on Saturday evening as the USA take on Belgium.
As one of the joint World Cup hosts, the USA didn’t have to go through qualifying, but Mauricio Pochettino’s side have been building momentum with a series of friendlies over the past year.
One clear takeaway from those exhibition matches is just how many high-scoring affairs the Stars and Stripes have been involved in.
That is underlined by the fact that both teams have found the net in each of the USA’s last four friendly fixtures.
With that in mind, there’s plenty of scope for the trend to continue when they face a Belgian side that carries plenty of attacking threat.
Moreover, four of the Red Devils’ eight matches during qualification delivered a winning BTTS selection, so all the signs point to a repeat in Atlanta.
Real Zaragoza vs Racing Santander (Sunday, 17:30)
Two teams with very different priorities for the rest of the season clash in the Spanish Segunda on Sunday evening as Real Zaragoza host Racing Santander.
Zaragoza currently sit in the relegation zone, but they’ve shown signs of life in their battle for survival.
Racing, by contrast, top the table as they push for promotion back to La Liga for the first time since 2011/12.
Despite leading the way, Racing’s matches this season have often featured goals at both ends.
Both teams have scored in 22 of the league leaders’ 31 Segunda assignments this term, including 12 of their 15 away fixtures.
That trend looks set to continue against a Zaragoza side that have produced a winning BTTS selection in 11 of their last 16 league outings.
