I WAS a bit gutted on Thursday when only seven out of eight of my Europa League teams scored.

There were plenty of goals about but PSG let me down big style away to Athletic Bilbao.

I received some cracking entries for my Line of the Week contest in the Daily Record and I'm convinced it's worth doing a random line for small stakes.

At the end of the day any side can score. They might lose 5-1 or 6-1 but on this bet all that matters is they hit the net at least once.

Take Thursday, for example. How many people expected Shamrock Rovers to score at White Hart Lane.

Anyway, as well as giving you my thoughts based on hard-nosed homework I'm going to put up a totally random line by picking numbers out of hat – and I bet you it wins or goes close. Games will be numbered 1-49 and taken from William Hill's both teams to score that features 49 selections.

I'm also going to ask my OAP mum and eight-year-old son to give me six numbers lottery style and see what the results are.

Right firstly for the serious stuff. I'm starting with Orient v Preston in League One. Orient battled back from 2-0 down to draw at Huddersfield last week with two late goals while Preston are on a run of five league wins in a row.

They beat Wycombe 4-3 in midweek and Yeovil were also beaten 4-3 a few weeks ago. Their last six games have featured 26 goals while Orient's last four have produced 17. It shouldn't be 0-0!

Both teams to score in this one pays a best 8-13 at Chandler.

Staying in League One and I'm looking at MK Dons v Notts County. Both sides have netted in six of MK Dons' last seven while County have scored in their last five.

Lee Hughes is a striker who will always pose a threat as he showed when scoring in the clubs' friendly away to Juventus to mark the opening of their new stadium. Both teams to score pays
8-11 at bet365.

Next it's Wimbledon v Gillingham in League Two. Wimbledon have scored 10 in five and Gillingham seven in two. Their last away trip ended in a 6-1 win at Hereford. This one pays 8-13 with bet365 and defenders will need to be on their toes.

I was tempted to go up to the Championship to complete my fourfold after every team but West Ham scored on Tuesday. But instead I'm going down to the Blue Square Premier after Fleetwood did us a turn in midweek.

Fleetwood's games simply leak goals with 30 produced in the last six, 20 for an 10 against. Braintree aren't too show either 11 being seen in their last three games. They beat Tamworth 3-1 in midweek and hammered Southport 4-0 last weekend.

Both teams to score at Braintree looks a no-brainer at 4-6 with William Hill, bet365 and others.

Both teams to score

Orient v Preston

MK Dons v Notts County

Wimbledon v Gillingham

Braintree v Fleetwood

Both teams to score (random picks)

Hull v Cardiff (5-6)

Leicester v Derby (8-11)

Orient v Preston (4-7)

Roma v Atalanta (4-6)
