Wycombe Wanderers vs Mansfield Town
Wycombe are in scintillating form, having won their last nine matches in all competitions. In the league, their record stands at an impressive W11-D2-L2. After losing their opening two fixtures—3-2 at Wrexham and 3-2 at home to Birmingham—Wycombe have gone on a remarkable run of 11 wins in their last 13 matches without defeat.
During this stretch, they have scored 31 goals while conceding just 12, averaging 2.33 goals per game. They have scored two or more goals in 13 of their 15 games this season and currently sit second in the xPTS table and non-penalty xG ratio. Additionally, Wycombe rank third in shots-on-target ratio, averaging five per game while conceding just 3.93.
In contrast, Mansfield have struggled for consistency. They rank 19th for xPTS and 14th in non-penalty xG ratio. Their overall record of W7-D3-L4 includes 16 goals conceded, but they have only won once in their last five matches, failing to score in their last two outings.
Against teams ranked 15th and above, Mansfield’s record is poor (W1-D2-L4), with 19 of their 24 points collected against teams in the bottom half. Over their last four matches, Mansfield rank 21st in non-penalty xG ratio and xPTS, while Wycombe top both tables during the same period.
Away from home, Mansfield are conceding an average of 16.66 shots per game while managing just 8.5 shots themselves—a pattern that is unlikely to sustain positive results moving forward.
With Wycombe sitting four points clear of second-placed Wrexham and Mansfield slipping to 10th after collecting just four points from their last five matches, these are two teams heading in opposite directions.
Backing Wycombe to win at 1.7 offers some value, but adding over 1.5 total goals boosts the odds to 1.9. This combination has landed in five of Wycombe’s six home matches this season and in nine of their 11 league victories.
- Best Bet: Wycombe to win and over 1.5 goals at 1.90 with Bet365
Middlesbrough vs Blackburn Rovers
Middlesbrough come into this match in red-hot form, having won their last three games and scoring a remarkable 15 goals in the process. Tipped as promotion contenders at the start of the season, they appear to have found consistency at the right time.
Boro have climbed to fifth in the table, just five points behind Leeds, Sunderland, and Sheffield United, all on 32 points. Over the last five matches, only Millwall and Sheffield United have collected more points than Middlesbrough, while Blackburn have managed just four points in the same period.
Middlesbrough’s overall record stands at W8-D3-L5, with just two home losses and only nine goals conceded at the Riverside. In contrast, Blackburn have struggled on the road, with a record of W1-D3-L3, their sole victory coming against Cardiff City, who sit fourth from bottom. Blackburn have scored just seven goals away from home and rank poorly in key metrics, sitting 15th in xPTS and 21st in away xPTS.
Boro excel in home performances, ranking third in home xPTS and non-penalty xG ratio, while also sitting second in overall xPTS. Only three teams in the league concede fewer shots on target at home than Middlesbrough, which will expose Blackburn’s attacking inconsistencies on the road.
While a bet on a home win and over 1.5 goals is a solid pick, the odds are slightly low. To boost value, we can add Middlesbrough striker Emmanuel Latte Lath to register at least one shot. Latte Lath has been in scintillating form, with 34 shots across 16 games this season. When starting, he has recorded at least one shot in all 11 matches, with two or more in eight.
Over the weekend, he played just 61 minutes but still managed a hat-trick from four shots on target. Backing Latte Lath to register at least one shot alongside a home win and over 1.5 goals boost the odds to 1.80 with Bet365—a strong value option for this matchup.
- Best Bet: Middlesbrough to win, over one goal and Latte Lath over 0.5 shots at 1.80 with Bet365
Barnsley vs Reading
Barnsley have a home record of W2-D4-L2, with both teams scoring in six of their eight matches at Oakwell. They have found the net in seven of those games, with their only blank coming in a 1-0 defeat to Wigan. Even in that match, Barnsley were unlucky not to score, generating 1.16 expected goals from 20 shots, including 10 inside the box and four on target.
Reading head into this match on the back of an excellent 2-1 victory at Peterborough on Saturday. They have now scored in seven of their eight away matches this season, with both teams scoring in seven of those games. Their only blank came in a 3-0 loss at Wrexham.
Defensively, Reading have struggled on the road, with no team in the league having a higher xGA (1.6) away from home. Additionally, only three teams have conceded more shots on target than the Royals on their travels. In contrast, Barnsley boast the fourth-highest xG at home and lead League One for shots on target in home matches.
While backing both teams to score offers solid potential, the odds are slightly low. To boost value, we can add over three Barnsley corners, taking the combined odds to 1.8. Barnsley have averaged 7.88 corners per game at home, winning four or more in five of their eight matches.
Over their last four home games, that average rises to an impressive 10.75 corners. Meanwhile, Reading have conceded an average of 6.73 corners per game on the road, allowing four or more corners in five of their eight away matches, including 10 against Peterborough on Saturday. This combination looks like a strong betting angle for the match.
- Best Bet: Both teams to score and Barnsley over three corners at 1.80 with Bet365
