Fritz vs Ruud Prediction and Betting Tips - French Open 2024

The French Open is entering its final stages, with only one round remaining before the quarter-finals. Only 12 of the initial 128 players remain to compete for a spot in the quarterfinals.

Top seed Novak Djokovic will face 27th seed Francisco Cerundolo in the fourth round of Roland-Garros.

The winner will advance to a quarter-final matchup against either Casper Ruud or Taylor Fritz. If Djokovic and Ruud both advance to the quarter-finals, they will face each other once again, setting up a rematch of last year's final, where Djokovic emerged as the victor.

Will Djokovic stop Cerundolo in his tracks? Or, will he suffer an upset at the hands of the Argentine? Read on for our Djokovic vs Cerundolo prediction and betting tips.

Over the weekend, Djokovic staged a comeback from being 2-1 down against Lorenzo Musetti, who had previously taken him to five sets at Roland-Garros three years ago.

The Serb conceded only three games in the final two sets. Although Djokovic isn't in his best form yet, the five-set battle demonstrated that he still has the level needed to defend his French Open title.

Cerundolo carried out a comeback of his own to defeat Tommy Paul and move to the fourth round for the second straight year. He's a decent shotmaker and maintains one of the best forehands in the game. Unfortunately, he has been rather inconsistent this season.

How the Bookies View It: Nothing But Djokovic

Bookmaker bet365 believes this will be a clear win for the world No. 1 Djokovic, making him the favourite at 1/8, while Cerundolo stands far behind at 5/1. Set betting suggests a straight-set victory for Djokovic 3-0, with this result paying 1/1.

Recent Head-to-Head: Nothing to See Here

The fourth-round clash between Djokovic and Cerundolo is going to be the first time they meet on the ATP Tour.

Anything Else Catch the Eye?

Djokovic’s victory over Musetti tied him with Roger Federer, with a total of 369 Grand Slam singles match wins.

However, the win did come at past 3am on Sunday morning. This will mean Djokovic got to bed no earlier than 6am, most likely. What impact will this disruption to his schedule have?

While Djokovic may still be waiting for his first title in 2024, the world No. 1 has never lost in the fourth round of the French Open. In fact, he’s not been eliminated at this stage of any Grand Slam event since the 2020 US Open, when he was disqualified for accidentally hitting a ball into a line judge's throat.

World No. 27 Cerundolo, rallied from a set down to defeat longtime rival Tommy Paul on Saturday, reaching the last 16 for the second season in a row. The 25-year-old has had a rollercoaster 2024 season. This follows his greatest season on Tour last year when he won his second ATP title in Eastbourne.

Djokovic vs Cerundolo Betting Tips & Predictions

If Cerundolo sustains his current performance, he has a chance to give Djokovic some trouble. However, defeating the Serb is not an easy task, which he has proven on multiple occasions. We believe Djokovic will be the one advancing to the quarterfinals.
