Tennis Prediction and Betting Tips 2024

This is what the past fortnight has been all about. Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz will square off in the Wimbledon final on Sunday, in a rematch of the final match this time last year.

Will it be seven-time champion Djokovic who prevails, or defending champ Alcaraz? It’s a battle of experience vs youth, and we couldn’t be more excited. Read on for the latest Djokovic vs Alcaraz prediction and betting tips as we break down this match and outline the best wagers to make.

Player Form: Alcaraz Had the Tougher Path

Obviously, any time two players get to the final of a Grand Slam, they’re in good nick.

Ahead of the tournament, however, it was Alcaraz who was in the better form by far. The Spaniard won the French Open in Paris last month, as well as Indian Wells earlier in the season. He’s been the consistent second-best player in the world, just behind Jannik Sinner.

The same can’t be said for Djokovic. For the first time in over a decade, he actually hasn’t looked that flash. Wimbledon is the first final he’s made all year, with uncharacteristic losses and injuries marring the opening six months of his season.

However, the Serb has played his way into form this tournament. His most recent two matches have been straight-set wins over seeds, and he dispatched Holger Rune and Lorenzo Musetti with no issues.

For Alcaraz, he’s had a tougher time. The 21-year-old has dropped sets in every match since the second round. Most recently, he saw off Daniil Medvedev and Tommy Paul, but not without dropping a set in each.

How the Bookies View It: Alcaraz, Just

Somewhat surprisingly, bookmaker Betfred has Alcaraz ahead in this clash. The defending champion pays 7/10 to win, with Djokovic on 5/4. Bookies can’t decide if it will be three or four sets for the Spaniard, with each paying 16/5.

Recent Head-to-Head: Advantage Djokovic

Djokovic leads the pair’s head-to-head 3-2. Two things to note: Alcaraz won this exact match a year ago in five sets to claim his first Wimbledon title. Since then though, Djokovic has beaten him twice.

Anything Else Catch the Eye?

There’s a lot on the line for both men in this match.

For Alcaraz, it’s about proving last year wasn’t a fluke. Beating Djokovic in the final of Wimbledon is remarkable. Doing it twice, saying something entirely different, however.

For Djokovic, he’s chasing the all-time Grand Slam winner record of 25 majors, plus is looking to equal Roger Federer’s eight Wimbledon titles. He’s also got a bone to pick generally, with those who are doubting whether or not he can still play at a high level as a 37-year-old, having recently had knee surgery.

Djokovic vs Alcaraz Betting Tips & Predictions

We’re taking Djokovic to win this one in four sets. He’s had the edge in their recent head-to-head, and you don’t bet against the greats.

  • Djokovic to win @ 5/4
  • Djokovic to win 3-1 @ 24/5
