Champions League matchday six is now in the bag and while some clubs have now guaranteed qualification to the knockout stages, some are already confirmed as being eliminated.
Real Madrid picked up a big win in Atalanta which boosted their UCL outright winner odds while RB Leipzig, one of the sides tipped to be dark horses before a ball was kicked, have been knocked out following six losses from six matches.
With the knockout stages now looming, here is how some of the key Champions League betting markets have shifted.
Champions League betting odds news – significant moves
- Man City move out to 7/1 to win the Champions League
- Juventus' odds of finishing in the top eight slashed to 3/1
- Raphinha worth a punt for the Golden Boot at 12/1
A fading force is drifting out
Man City started the season as the favourites to win the Champions League but they are now the sixth favourites with most bookmakers following their loss to Juventus. The Blues are now priced at 7/1 to win the competition but even this feels a little short considering there is a legitimate chance that they are eliminated in the league phase.
City travel to France on matchday seven to take on PSG in what will be a huge game given both clubs are hovering around 24th position. If they lose that then they will need to beat Club Brugge in their final league match and if it gets to that point, then anything can happen.
The Old Lady to make a late surge
Juventus aren't exactly having a great season in Serie A but they put in their best performance of the season on Wednesday night when they beat Man City 2-0 at the Allianz Stadium. That win moved the Old Lady up to 14th position in the league table and are now just two points away from the top eight.
At 3/1, there is excellent value on backing Juventus to finish inside the top eight when you look at their two remaining fixtures. They face Club Brugge in Belgium next before welcoming Juventus in Turin on he final matchday.
Could a wide man win the Golden Boot?
When it comes to the Champions League betting odds for the top goalscorer, the usual suspects such as Erling Haaland and Robert Lewandowski are the favourites. However, one wide man is quietly racking up serious numbers in this year's competition.
Barcelona winger, Raphinha, is now up to six goals in the competition which has taken his CL top scorer odds down to 12/1. With Man City at risk of going out and Kylian Mbappe not firing on all cylinders, this feels like a price worth backing.
