THERE'S a full English card on Thursday as well as Scottish Premiership fixtures so let's hope we can give bookies a real stuffing.
I've been putting together a Super Singles shortlist over the past few weeks and it helps when fans in particular make a relevant comment about their own team – for or against.
Biggest game of the day is Man City v Liverpool and although a Luis Suarez-inspired Anfield outfit top the table it's impossible to back against City at home. Hopefully we'll get something similar to the 6-3 Arsenal game and it certainly looks full of goals.
City are too short for the Super Single shortlist as are other Premier League favourites such as Chelsea, Man Utd, Everton, Newcastle, Spurs and Arsenal. Bookies will be in trouble if they all win.
The good news is Derby are over evens at Huddersfield and are well capable of making it eight wins in a row.
Brighton at Charlton and QPR at Nottm Forest are possibilities while in League One what about Preston at Carlisle and Orient at Gillingham.
Southend at Wimbledon, Scunthorpe at Bury and Torquay at home to Bristol Rovers are my initial thoughts from League Two. Both these League Two picks have been shot down by Bury and Torquay fans so unlikely to appear.
And in Scotland I like Kilmarnock at Hearts, Inverness away to Partick Thistle and Hibs at Ross County. Aberdeen are evens at home to Motherwell.
Super Single shortlist
Derby
Brighton
QPR
Preston
Southend
Scunthorpe
Torquay
Kilmarnock
Inverness
Hibs
Homes
Everton
Man City
Newcastle
Spurs
Blackburn
Leicester
Wigan
Sheffield Utd
Wolves
Burton
Aberdeen
Aways
Man Utd
Arsenal
Brighton
Derby
Preston
Orient
Southend
Scunthorpe
Kilmarnock
Inverness
Hibs
Celtic
Dundee Utd

Good work Mr F! Just finished looking through the Boxing day card! It’s tough looking but their is definitely value to be had if you can hit the right double or treble! Little in the way if shorter priced homes!
Thoughts so far:
Sheffield United
Rochdale
Aberdeen
Wigan over 1.5 goals
Brighton over 1.5 goals
Backed a treble Greg from your suggestions, Rochdale sheff utd and Aberdeen. 10 on for 72. Don’t trust Wigan or Brighton this season! ;) merry xmas
Rangers – Stranraer
BTTS @ 11/8
Stranraer scored in their last 10 aways in a row
see good chances here
good fixtures boxing day, lots of good bets to be had.
Walcot anytime gl scorer – scored on last 3 games v west ham 7/4 @bet365.
Rooney anytime 13/8 @bet365 involved in everything man utd do lately
also think palace are worth a look at 7/2 away to villa or 19/20 double chance @BetVictor
I’ll probably end up taking Welbeck anytime at 13/8, he looks the most likely to grab a goal in my opinion.
Thats quite a long shortlist mr fixit.
Mr f,y am I not seeing Chelsea in da shortlist?
Off topic here but I put money on FGS in the arsenal game with coral. Will I get my stake back seeing as there were no FGS? I understand you can bet on no goalscorer therefore my bet may stand. I know for In play betting you get your stake back if you bet next goalscorer and there is none.
Thanking you in advance.
grant, no because as you say you can back no scorer.
ABERDEEN 10/11 @ home to Motherwell
DUNDEE UTD 10/11 away to St Mirren
Aberdeen v Motherwell games are usually tight and draws are fairly common, however Aberdeen are a different side under McInnes and they have the quality to push on this season for 2nd place.
2 stick out prices for me.
Well.. Arsenal always beat the Irons at Upton Park and usually I’d be backing against my team, painful though that is. But Ive a feeling they might give em a good game with Arsenal not creating many chances in last couple of games. So i’d say steer clear of The Arse. Would love to beat them.
Been having a good run on 2+ goal multiples of late, so I’m sticking with this market over the usually unpredictable festive period. Boxing day’s bet is as follows
DERBY @ 11/10
Derby are on fire at the moment with 15 goals in their last 5 games. They have also scored 2+ in 4 of their last 5 away days. Huddersfield just don’t do clean sheets at home, with just 1 in 12 at home this season
LEYTON ORIENT @ 10/11
Scored 2+ in 4 of their last 5 games away from home, while opponents Gillingham have conceded 2+ in 4 of their last 5 games. Orient won 3-1 here in September in the JPT
KILMARNOCK @ 11/8
Killie have a great record here, winning on the last 5 visits! Hearts have been leaking goals of late, shipping 2+ goals in 7 of the last 8 games at Tynecastle
DUNDEE UTD @ 4/5
Utd have scored 4+ in 5 of their last 6 matches. A 1-0 win over Ross County in their last game the only time they’ve failed to net twice in that run. St Mirren have improved recently, but have lost their last 2 games 3-0 & 2-0. They also lost 4-0 to Utd earlier in the season
The four-fold pays a tasty 16/1
The above to score 3+ is 420/1 (3/1, 5/1, 5/2 & 4/1) so going on a small stakes yankee on that also. 2/4 guarantee’s a small profit.
Paul – Not sure if im being a bit thick here but at the bottom of ur super single shortlist u have Inverness and partick, aren’t they playing each other?
Rob, should be Inverness.
I like the look of those homes picks Mr F. Only one I can add to that is Macclesfield at home to Hyde @ 1/2.
GRIMSBY! GRIMSBY! GRIMSBY! Did I mention Grimsby there? Away to local rivals Lincoln who have only won once in the Conference since September. WARNING! I mentioned at the weekend not backing against Barnsley when playing at Leeds. A team I NEVER back against is Bury. They sit second bottom of their league, but, if things had gone their way in some matches they’d be further up their league. They fear absolutely no one and battle like tigers.
Yes John Boy. Just looked at the stats for the teams over the last few weeks, and they back up what you say. Grimsby won five of their last six. Available at a top price of 7/5. Definitely worth considering.
Ah Bury! remember it as thought it was yesterday although it must be about 28yrs ago.I was waiting on Bury for a ten team acca, listening on the radio it was a late result, but I knew they were winning 1.0 with one minute to play,it took about 20 mins before they got round to reading it out and it was that guy who used to read it out,you know the script “Bury 1 pause whoever 1” it would have been over £100 a lot of money back then,my ex wife came running through to the kitchen as she thought something had blown up!but it was the noise of the tranny being kicked across the room by my good self.
swany, OK no games involving Bury either. That was the legendary commentator who let you know the result before he actually said it with his time. Good if it was a result wanted, annoying if it wasn’t.
Johnboy, how confident are u about Grimsby .
Ha. Dunno if ur taking the mick there Mark S but I’m confident. Early kick off 1pm, which I hate doing, but yes, I am confident about Grrriimmbbbyy!
Oh. sss. Throw a few of them in as well
What about trying one of the big boys -1 to bring over evens
If Aguero was playing I would have picked city they seem to relish playing big teams at home
Should still have enough talent to win
Man City to win and BTTS is definitely a tempter for boxing day.
Not takin the mick John boy was thinkin about a double with Grimsby and brentford.
Does anyone think man city liverpool lots of goals or another chelsea arsenal
Chelsea snuffed out Man Utd and Arsenal in 0-0 games Phil whereas Man City at home just keep on scoring. Rodgers knows to beat Man City Liverpool will prob need at least 3 or 4 and no doubt will go for it.
AL great write up
I love the 2+ goal market
Been fairly successful with it recently
Keep those tips coming
Gd luk all
Merry crimbo
Mark S. That would be a good early double. Brentford haven’t let up since Rosler went managing Wigan. Swindon not good away from home. Good shout MarkS
I think Sunderland will beat Everton and Norwich and Fullam Draw Aston Villa should also win.
Newcastle vs Stoke Draw
Because I like being a bit crazy at times, I’ve put a Yankee on for Boxing Day:
Villa v Palace – No Goalscorer
Ramirez to score First and Cardiff v Southampton to finish 1-1
Welbeck to score First and Man Utd to win 2-0
Luis Suarez to score First and Man City to win 4-2
If this comes in, you probably won’t see me for a while.
MiniDuff, if it comes in you can do my job for a while – and I’ll disappear.
Haha, I think even if just won of the 4-fold is correct i’ll be happy.
Man city and btts worth a small stake on boxing day maybe even a larger stake.
Brentford look good at EVENS at home to Swindon. They have won 9 out of their last 10 games, in which the other was a 0-0 draw with Wolves who lie 2nd in the table. Their last game was a 3-0 win away at Preston.
Brentford currently 3rd with Swindon not too far behind in 7th.
Brighton also looks great at 6/4, playing a lot better in the last 3 weeks against tougher teams.
Just going to throw one in here on the btts and draw market. If, as Mr F stated, u have the draw option with ur online bookie. CHELTENHAM v EXETER. Check out Cheltenham’s home draw record and the goals for and against ratio of both teams.
Yes Alan. As u say, Grimsby are to be considered. And what James M just posted about Brentford should encourage MarkS in pairing them in his fancied double
You can currently get circa 7/2 for the Brentford + Grimsby double. Ho ho ho……..
Acca for Boxing Day man city fleetwood Preston Leeds arsenal man utd pays around 60/1 good luck
Must have scarred u bad
Swany. Ha. Good story. I’ll send one in after the festivities concerning the euromillions that had a very good ending a few months back for me n the missus
Cheers John boy look forward to hearing it.
Never backed Bury since, not that I’m one to hold a grudge.
Really fancy Hibs tomorrow.
Think the team will be highly motivated to go out and get a positive result in honour of the young boy that sadly passed away.
Stuart, Hibs won there recently in the Cup and can do so again. Don’t think what happened to David Paul will affect the result – both sides will give it their best shot.
haha, well i never thought i’d see the day that my beloved torquay united are in the running for a super single!!
a local(ish) derby, the first of three over the festive period, the second being the most important to us, dirty exeter city!!
altho we have ground out our first back to back wins of the season i’d recommend taking us off your list! bristol rovers are having a good spell too, and with players like harrold and o toole can always score goals
we could win , but i think personally it’ll be btts and a draw
bixie, advice taken. Torquay won’t be the Super Single – wasn’t really aware about the derby aspect. They look too far apart.
well i’m glad i did my bit to put people off backing us today!!
on to exeter next, the big one, hopefully all the players will want to beat them as much as us fans do!!
My weekend super single derby -2 was buggered up when martin missed the penalty. the game could easily of been a cricket score as derby looked deadly everytime they got the ball but left gaps at the back to exploit. Derby are still on course for my predicted 10 game winning streak and @ 6/5 with bet365 unless its changed price again looks to be nailed on. Even though Huddersfield away is as good a test as we’ve had this past 2 months, we’re 3 points from the top and plenty of the top 6 are playing eachother. Confidence is sky high and nobody in the league wants to play us. I still think we’ll be top of the league before we play leicester in january.
Hi All, I’m a massive Derby fan, been watching them all season. As much as it pains me to say I really don’t believe we will win at Huddersfield on Boxing Day, with Richard Keogh out (who is our heart of defence) injured on Saturday, the defence looked shaky without him, as good a player Michael Keane is, he is still inexperienced and with the likes of Norwood, Hammill and Vaughan coming at us, we will find it difficult. My honest opinion is that a draw is the likely result @ 9/4. Thanks
Andrew, the thing about Derby is the run has to end at some points. Two Derby fans on here – one goes Derby win and the other a draw. It’s putting me off them a little bit.
Mr F, personally I would leave it, obviously I want them to win, but would risk a dime on them this week, Barnsley away for derby at 21/20 game after should be pounded on though
Looks like a good contender for my mad Boxing Day 10 fold of BTTS/+ 2.5 match goals, I’m currently putting together.
Don’t know if I’ll put Rangers V Stranraer in there, but I’ll definitely be on the BTTS as a single @ 11/8
Brentford evens(Hills) @ home to poor travelling Swindon,Coventry game over 4/5 & Man City game over 3.5 @ 5/4 Happy Christmas all & g`luck on Boxing Day.
Mr fixit , what ure thoughts on brentford , surprised not mentioned on super single list.
MarkS, it was just a quick shortlist, Brentford been put up by a few. I’d love to hear what Swindon fans thought as they look tough to beat at the moment.
What about Rotherham away at Bradford, Bradford haven’t won in 5 at home while Rotherham have won 4 out the last 5 away from home. Then in the last 5 head to heads Rotherham have won them all! 7/4! Got to be considered
Ladbrokes offering Chelsea @ 1/2 in a min. 5 team accy, can add Everton 2/5,Spurs 4/7,Rangers 1/10 & perhaps Brentford 10/11 pays around 11/2 Brenford DRAW can be added with the first 4 at a cost of around 10% of your initial stake,to cover your initial stake. 90% of something is better than 100% of nothing!
Ok all. When posting ur tips add ur favourite Christmas song! Mines, Driving home for Christmas. Chris Rea.
Blackpool v Leeds
Leeds draw no bet@ 10/11
worth a look
Charlton v Brighton
Coventry v Peterborough
Portsmouth v dag , red
Cheltenham v Exeter
Sling ya granny’s bungalow on both teams to score in these 4 matches . 9/1 @betfred
I’ve had a dream !

Singles / doubles / trebles etc
Sheffield United
Aberdeen
Brighton
Cheltenham
Rotherham
Bournemouth
Woking
Rochdale
Preston
– —————————————————————
Over 2.5 goals
Coventry v Peterborough
Port Vale v Notts county
Carlisle v Preston
Gillingham v Leyton Orient
Bradford v Rotherham
—————————————————————-
Port Vale v Notts County
The vale have conceded in 20 consecutive home matches with both teams scoring in 17 of those! 9 of the the last 11 meetings between these two have ended over 2.5 goals with BTTS! See no reason why that won’t be the same on Thursday! Tom pope has scored 3 in 4 and will worth a stake for Anytime scorer!
Back over 2.5 goals 17/20
Back Both teams to score 8/11
Pope Anytime 8/5
—————————————————————-
Carlise v Preston
The hosts have seen over 2.5 goals in 7 of their last 8 home matches with both teams scoring in those 8! Preston have scored in 8 of their last 9 away matches and are unbeaten in their last 6 visits to Carlisle!
Back over 2.5 goals 21/20
Both teams to score 4/5
—————————————————————-
Gillingham v Leyton Orient
The O’s have seen both teams to score in 9 of their last 11 away matches! They are top of the leagu and scoring but don’t keep many clean sheets! I fancy Gillingham to net!
Back over 2.5 goals 4/5
Both tea to score 8/11
—————————————————————-
Best of the rest:
Bradford v Rotherham BTTS 4/6
Peterborough over 1.5 teams goals 11/8
My 4 away,s on Bet Fred bonus coupon are
Kilmanock
Derby
MK Dons
and the evening game QPR,
£5 acca returns £211
What a price man city are at 4/5 with William hill. They can’t stop scoring at home and Liverpool will not stop them as well as they are playing at the moment. I’ve done really well this season with my trebles and fourfolds and have won a fortune and my money will be going on man city orient and arsenal in a treble at just over 5/1 with William hill and if ya want better odds stick Oxford in there as well to make it 10/1. They should win at home Plymouth.
Have a good xmas Mr F and everyone on here.
Greg B. Fab.overs! Will be on!Have a good Christmas.Cheers.
Swany – Hilarious

Let you know in a bit AH, got my Racing and Footy Outlook here and studying hard in between watching Finding Nemo!!
raaljaca, AH is gone – can’t allow usernames that offend.
Agree Mr F, replied to him without using that name.
Three draws worth considering at 11-4 on bet Fred Bonus coupon. In which i find are no better and worse than the other team they are playing. Maybe their fixed odds compiler has had too many or is in a time to give, being xmas.
Man city draw 11-4 v Liverpool.
Newcastle draw 11-4 v Stoke city
Watford draw 11-4 v Millwall.
mr F what makes you consider everton to be too short? i consider them to be a good banker for boxing day.
hammer, I don’t remember saying that.
i do apologise mr F, i misread your article. you merely said that everton were too short for the super single, not too short to be picked at all.
hammer, pretty sure Everton will be on many of my accas.
In Serie B i have;
Pescara
Empoli
Siena
Brescia
Varese
Pescara in terms of odds look the best with 15/8 but Brescia is possibly safer at 11/8. Will ruminate will i intake proper food and even a hot fruity wine that isnt buckfast.
both teams to score and derby win looks very tasty at 13/4 with ladbrokes, considering derby’s winning form, and the fact that huddersfield have scored in 10 if their last 12 home games, and derby have scored in 11 of their last 12 away games. only one of derby’s last 12 away games has finished in a draw.
Nice one one oor man! Will have a look!
Happy christmas all
speek again on boxing day going to open presies with kids now 7am here!
Need coffee:-)
Mr F thanks for the good work, enjoy your xmass
Super single im on hull vs man u btts @ evens. Think it has a great chance at decent odds
The thing with Derby and Keogh injured is he’s not as good as people think. with barker injured, buxton has joined keogh in central defence. Now that keane has a chance to pair up with buxton, i see the heart of defence as much the same standard as before. the reason that derby are winning is that we have transformed our own mentallity from a 4-5-1 away and a 4-4-1-1 at home team to a rigid 4-3-3 attacking team both home and away. we are no longer holding back against teams of equal stature, the team is set up for creating and scoring goals. Sure, we’ll probably concede goals as we’ve hardly been a clean sheet team for 15 years, but we are very free scoring. the goals and chances coming mainly from martin/ward/dawson and bryson in midfield. we barely score at set pieces which isn’t really our strength ( we’re a vertically challenged team ). Last game Theo Robinson missed a 1 on 1. 3 passes and 10 seconds later we were 2-0 up.
Its by no accident that for the last 4 games, we’ve been the highest scorers in the league, home or away it makes no odds, best form in the league over the last 5/6/7 and 8 games and over the whole of europe ( every league ) we are 4th on form over the last 7 games. We also have the best away record in the league, are 3 points from the leaders and i believe we have scored more on the road than huddersfield have scored at home. I’m not jumping on a handicap result this weekend as it could be a tough game. The freescoring nature of our side suggests again there will be goals for derby, but to keep this run going and to set us up nicely for a win with barnsley, i would expect derby to win and would be greatful for a 1 goal winning margain.
Nathan, I would take a one goal margin but this run will end sooner or later and just feel Huddersfield away is probably the place, they have some good attacking players in Vaughan, Norwood and Hammill. Id be delighted with 3 points but wouldn’t complain at 1 point considering. We do have a better all round team but just have a feeling in my gut that it will be a draw. Come on you rams though!
Thank you guys for all your tips. The booked will be crippled tomorrow. I had a 12 fold acca that was paying £13k from £2 last week only to chicken out and cashed in at £100.. And just my luck all the remaining teams won

MrF, why am I suprised to not see Man city vs Liverpool- over 3.5 goals, as a candidate for the super single? With two of the best attacks in the premiership, with arguably, two of the shakiest defences too.. Surely, over 3.5 goals is a great bet at 5/4 (betvictor). The odds are shortening up as we speak via oddschecker.
Coral offering enhanced odds for city, utd and arsenal treble. I’m on it
I like Millwall double chance at just above evens, considering Watford have lost or drawn their last 10 matches and Millwall have beaten the likes of Leeds, Wigan and Blackpool aswell as drawing with Forest, Burnley Reading and QPR I reckon that the 21/20 is justification enough for a win or the draw. Good luck and hope you all had a good Christmas
Mark 1976, by all accounts Millwall were rubbish losing at home to Middlesbrough last weekend so not one for me. They seem to be very inconsistent.
Burton v Northampton Town 3PM KO
Burton boss Gary Rowett will check on Damien McCrory ahead of the visit of managerless Northampton.
McCrory was withdrawn at half-time during the 1-1 draw with Hartlepool on Saturday after sustaining a hamstring problem and the defender is a doubt for Boxing Day. Zander Diamond will replace the 23-year-old Irishman, as he did at Victoria Park, should McCrory not be fit to face the Cobblers.
Rowett made three changes to his side at Hartlepool, resting striker Rene Howe and not risking midfielders Lee Bell (hamstring) or Alex MacDonald (virus).
Bell and MacDonald should both be fit in time for the visit of Northampton, who sacked Aidy Boothroyd on Saturday evening after a 4-1 home defeat to Wycombe, while Howe will be fresh for the clash.
Andy King takes charge of his first match as Northampton caretaker manager on Boxing Day as the struggling outfit head to promotion-chasing Burton.
King is in temporary charge of the Cobblers following Aidy Boothroyd’s sacking in the wake of Saturday’s 4-1 home reverse to Wycombe – which left the club propping up the Football League.
And King, formerly assistant manager, is thrown straight in at the deep end following injuries to Mathias Kouo-Doumbe, Ian Morris and Clive Platt – each of whom have been ruled out for around a month.
Winger Stuart Dallas has also been recalled by parent club Brentford on Monday – forcing King to himself recall Cobblers trio Ben Tozer, Matty Harriott and David Moyo from their loans elsewhere.
4/5 with bet 365
Ah ok thanks for the heads up, will leave it alone Paul. Hope you had good Christmas. Looking forward to hopefully another profitable new year,
Michelle, u have been busy with that write up. Good luck
3 of my ‘singles’ up at 7/4 13/8 & 7/2 :) Charlie Adam failing to score cost me about £500 but £33+ for £2 treble of rooney walcott and leon Clarke
