MRF2018 NewportvGrimsby

Newport County v Grimsby Town

Skybet League Two. Kick off 3pm, Saturday August 25th.

NEWPORT have enjoyed a decent start to the season with seven points from a possible 12 and look good value to extend that run at home on Saturday to a Grimsby Town side that have picked up just the one win so far, against newly-promoted Macclesfield Town.

Looking at the history between theses two sides it's often a very tight, low-scoring affair. in the last four meetings between them the result has seen just the one game go over 2.5, last season's 2-1 win for Grimsby. The previous three games have seen just the two goals scored in total, and although Newport haven't been short of goals with nine goals in their last four games, I think there's decent value to be had by backing it to once again be a close game between the pair.

Young striker Mark Harris has two goals in his last three games for Newport since joining on loan from Cardiff City and is a worth a look at a good price to add another goal on Saturday. A straight Newport win is decent enough odds for an accumulator at 11/10, or for longer odds add under 2.5 goals.
