ALL five of my outright tips made the cut with Tommy Fleetwood best placed at one shot off the lead.
Fleetwood posted a stunning round of 65 yesterday in the worst of the weather and hopefully he'll make a good run at his first Major win over the weekend.
My two ball yesterday ended with Tiger Woods beating Russell Knox but drawing with Hideki Matsuyama who missed the cut after a triple-bogey seven on the last a la Van de Velde.
However, my tournament match bet won with Rickie Fowler in contention while Jon Rahm missed the cut.
Players go out in two balls today and I much prefer two ball bets. First up is Patrick Reed and the Masters champion is likely to use his experience to see off world No.435 Rhys Enoch whose job is done by just making the cut.
Reed's a short price so double up with Rafa Cabrera-Bello who is a player I like and have backed many time over the years. Last season's Scottish Open champion loves the links and should take care of Bernhard Langer who at 60 has done well to make the cut but could now be feeling the pace.
I've also got a single and it's Tommy Fleetwood to beat American wildman Pat Perez.
This could be close though with Perez shooting rounds of 69 and 68 having handled the contrasting weather conditions well and looking at home on the links course.
Coming up the last yesterday he was four under but the 18th wasn’t as easy as Thursday and he bogeyed it. Still a very round from the colourful star from Arizona.
However, I have to back Fleetwood here. He is my tip for the Championship and his six under yesterday in the worst of the weather was truly great links golf. It was great to see Tommy getting his form back after a first-round 72 when we all expected much better round from the Englishman.
