West Brom host Norwich City in the Championship on Saturday with both sides still with an outside chance of making the promotion playoffs.
West Brom are coming off a 2-0 defeat to Sheffield United in their previous Championship fixture. They made a bright start and looked the better side up until the Blades struck the opener, and could not find a way back into the contest.
That was the second straight defeat for West Brom, who were beaten 2-1 at home by Sunderland in their previous fixture. Both results mean the Baggies remain ninth on the standings, two points off the playoff places and need to win on Saturday to have something to play for in the final game of the season.
The problem for West Brom is that they have found things difficult at the Hawthorns in recent weeks. Carlos Corberan’s men have played out two draws and a defeat in their last three home matches.
Norwich City are also coming off a defeat as they were beaten 3-0 at home by Swansea City last time out in the Championship. They fell two goals down in the first half and then struggled to get back in the game especially after Sam McCallum was sent off.
The Canaries have now slipped into the bottom half of the table, although sitting just three points off the top six they also have an outside chance of making the playoffs. However, David Wagner’s men have not been at their best in recent weeks with two draws and as many defeats from their last four matches.
Things have been slightly better on the road for Norwich City, who have suffered just one defeat in their last seven away matches. There have been four draws in that run, including a 1-1 scoreline at QPR in their previous fixture away from home.

Players to watch
Brandon Thomas-Asante failed to find the net in midweek but remains the biggest attacking threat for West Brom. The forward has seven Championship goals this season and is priced at 21/10 by William Hill to find the net on Saturday.
Josh Sargent is the leading scorer for Norwich City with 12 Championship goals this season and will be the one to watch on Saturday. Paddy Power is offering odds of 13/5 on the forward to score anytime at the Hawthorns.
Anything else catch the eye?
Both teams have been on target in their last three meetings and a similar outcome is valued at 8/11 with BoyleSports. West Brom have seen over 2.5 goals in their last two home matches and a repeat is priced at 6/7 with 10bet while BetVictor is offering odds of 9/4 for over 3.5 goals.
With a closely fought contest expected on Saturday, both teams could be tipped to battle to a halftime draw at 5/4 with bet365.
