WELL done Andy Murray for winning the Sports Personality of the Year award – but compared to winning Wimbledon it's like triumphing in a mixed doubles event down his local park.
Anyway that's the 2013 prize out of the way – so who will win in 2014 if you really care. Well, he's such a strong personality that Murray is the 3-1 favourite with Coral ahead of Wayne Rooney.
England footballers Rooney and Steven Gerrard are 12-1 and 14-1 respectively in what will be a World Cup year but they're unlikely to be voted for on their Brazil exploits.
Mo Farah and Chris Froome, who didn't make the top three this year, are 16-1 and 20-1 respectively with Rory McIlroy 25-1 and Jessica Ennis-Hill 33-1.
Give it Geoff Boycott, I say. His personality has shown through in the past couple of weeks with his entertaining and hard-hitting comments about the England cricket team.
What about this cracker yesterday after another Ashes debacle: “Where was Kevin Pietersen? He was on the boundary, out of it, like a cow grazing in the meadow.”
Udder genius. I'm on Boycott at 50,000-1.
Mo Farah might be worth a sniff at that price. Got to think that someone who has a good commonwealth games would be in the hunt….
I think if he wins another World Championship Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor should get it, there might be many who don’t even think darts is a proper sport but the level of consistency it takes to win that many World Titles has to be acknowledged.
