CHIEF IRONSIDE (8.30) can lay down the law at Newmarket. Willie Jarvis’s three-year-old thumped this week’s Salisbury winner Infrastructure three lengths at Chester and reappeared 10 days later in a very hot handicap at Newbury.
Chief Ironside was by no means disgraced in finishing third to Communique and he can take the measure of the only other three-year-old, Breath Caught.
FOUR WHITE SOCKS (8.05) is another progressive three-year-old. She looked pretty smart when humbling her rivals at Goodwood last time and her debut second to Agrotera at Windsor is rock-solid form given the way her conqueror landed an inspired gamble in the Sandringham Stakes at Royal Ascot last week.
Smart Call is the clear pick of the older horses on the back of her third to classy Coronet at York.
FELINE GROOVY (7.05) should a good attitude to fend off some persistent challenges at Newbury last time and looks an improving three-year-old filly. The third horse home Daisy Chain runs in the 4.00 at Doncaster so a good display would bolster confidence.
SOUND ADVICE (7.40) has an excellent record around the Roodeye and may be good enough to overcome a lousy draw in stall 11. He would take some beating if able to replicate two recent course runs behind Baraweez and Keith Dalgleish has decided to drop Sound Advice into a claimer following at abject performance at haydock. This return to Chester should do the trick, with Rene Mathis is obvious contender.
MR RECKLESS (8.15) can give weight to all his rivals in the 1m 2f handicap if repeating last Friday game effort when denied close home by Danceteria at HQ. He had earlier beat strongly-fancied Istanbul Sultan at Wetherby. Gossip Column’s second to Ibraz at Sandown marks him down as a danger.
ULSHAW BRIDGE (3.30) has been knocking at the door, finishing a neck second to Maverick Officer at Haydock 16 days ago. That run came on the back of a good fourth to Crack On Crack On in the Haydock Silver Bowl.

Did you have to go against Alan but? Lol.
R/fc for me.
GL all.
I had to, Breath Caught is also one of my horses to follow and was one of my strongest on the horses to follow list, still haven’t seen the best, still improving and as long as we get a strong gallop today and extra distance will suit, he is a Group winner in waiting, would have won last time with a stronger pace and if he gets the pace today he should walk it, should be 6/4 maximum not 11/4
FRESH TERMS ,3.10 yarm. 7-2. 3rd last time at donny, looked to be crying out for step up to a mile and half like her dad New Approach( derby winner about ten year ago). The winner and the fifth from the donny race have both won since so the form looks strong and the trainer has 4 wins 4 2nds from the last ten runners.
60/1 Place Winner
These golf bets just keep on coming in
Andrew Putnam in the first round leader market finished just one shot off the lead but it’s still a good 60/1 place winner
Thanks again let’s hope the other ones land as well
Good to see Tyrrell Hatton has played himself back into the tournament today after a difficult first round, Putnam, Kim & Hatton looking the main ones this week
Yeah happy with that – I took Aces’s tip on Hatton. Seems to play well in Europe at this time of the year.

Thanks for Putnam, John. I’ve filled my boots with your golf tips recently.
No problem, the good thing about Putnam is that he played in the worst conditions yesterday going out in the afternoon so hopefully today will be the same and he will get the better morning conditions and set a good total

I know a lot of people have done the place double today with Night Of Power (2 places) and Breath Caught (3 places)
It was paying 5/2 earlier but is now just a fraction below 2/1
Yip…sound reasoning from all of the above. R/Fc with John and Alan’s in 8.50(£5 free bet) and a wee double on ..

Yet to win but lto was beaten 2 1/4L by Kalaxana who has gone up 9lbs for that win and is now rated 93 so off 80 tonight looks manageable.
Bolger/Manning combo have won this race for the past 3 years so I’m sure they will be trying to keep that run going tonight.

Good shout dc, sound reasoning behind your tip which enanle more to bet confidently. The OBrien 2/1 fav was license to print money though, not that I backed it lol.
2/1 not my usual cup of tea but Master Brewer 2 20 Newm ,given an “education” lto by Spencer, fair enough price in a 4 runner race GL
