AFTER a $20million two-year overhaul the TPC Potomac sees the return of the PGA Tour with the Quicken Loans National.
The course had been plagued by drainage and turf issues but since the renovations the Senior Players Championship has been played there with positive views.
There aren’t a lot of pointers for here due to the renovations so I’ll stick to form, GIR and putting average.
Justin Thomas has won three times this season but tends to go off the boil at times. He missed the cut last time out but before that his form was good (T5, T75, T4, T9).
The 24-year-old Kentuckian is a class act and big things are expected from him. His three wins were all before February but had also had five top-10s including a T9 at the US Open and a T22 in The Masters. He is first on the Putting Average and 28th in GIR stats. Really think he has a good chance here. GIR: 68.52% (28th) PA: 1.695 (1st)
I can’t speak too highly of Rickie Fowler. At the US Open I thought he was going to do it for a while but unfortunately it wasn’t to be. He was going well in the first three rounds of The Masters but then had a horrendous 76 to finish T11.
He has missed a couple of cuts since then but a T2 at the Memorial and a T5 at the US Open shows there is form there. He won the Honda at the end of February and has a total of six top 10s. Although he is best price 8-1 I shall still have a bet on him. GIR: 68.31 (32nd) PA: 1.728 (6th)
Brendan Steele won the Safeway Open in the first tournament of the season but has had a bit of an up and down season. His form coming into this week hasn’t been that bad though with a T6, T13 and T14 from his last four outings, including the US Open. The 34-year-old has the game to win again and it could be here. GIR: 68.71% (42nd) PA: 1.767 (77th)

3 for me this week
David lingmerth 40/1
Tipped him few weeks back and he was awful but he has been plating well this year and has course form here from couple years back
Patrick reed 14/1
Finally rediscovering his form. Last couple years he was my hideki matsuyama in my go to player and hopefully coming back to form
Bill Haas 33/1
Seem to pick him once or twice a year solely on course form but he played well last time out and has won here in past
No time to look so taking an each-way double – Ace’s Fleetwood as well as Justin Thomas.
Lee, hope Lingmerth can hold on in the final round. That was a great pick.

Tommy Fleetwood (22-1) did the business for me this week. He hit a superb 5 under par final round to hold off a charge of American Peter Uihlein.
Cheers @aceventurer couldn’t keep it together today but that’s golf for you. I’ll be honest there was few in top 10 heading into final round of never heard of
Lee, it’s very hard to pick a winner this year. In any week any of the top thirty are in with a chance, Anyway onwards and upwards as they say and better luck this week.
Cheers ace nice call with Tommy fleetwood
ace maybe onwards and sideways for me a think, good picking again,
