Sep 28: Champions League Betting Preview

MrF_Arsenal

IT was a decent night in the Champions League with eight of my 10 suggested bets winning.

I’m hoping to do as well on Wednesday and start with Arsenal who are at home to Basel. I watched Arsenal v Chelsea game on Saturday and the Gunners were superb.

I was really impressed as they raced into a 3-0 lead with some scintillating football and while the Swiss are a decent side who have started the season well they won’t be able to live with that type of football.

Arsenal of course are short to win at a best 4-11 with Ladbrokes so let’s turn to goals. They have netted 11 in their last three games so try Arsene Wenger’s men to net 3+ at 23-20 with McBookie. I also fancy over 3.5 match goals at 7-5 with Stan James.

Alexis Sanchez could come alive tonight and he is 4-1 at McBookie and bet365 to score first.

Biggest game of the night is a repeat of last season’s semi-final with Atletico Madrid hosting Bayern Munich. Atletico won 1-0 in the Vicente Calderon and have kept five clean sheets in a row in the Champions League at home.

Bayern know the Spaniards are tough to beat and will once again fear Antoine Griezmann. The Euro 2016 star netted in that 1-0 win and has scored five goals in five league games.

Carlo Ancelotti replaced Pep Guardiola and has made the same impact at Bayern as the Spaniard has at Man City. The Italian is the first boss to win his first eight games and he’s a multiple Champions League winner who will get his tactics spot on tonight.

I’ve got to favour Bayern on their revenge mission but will keep the draw on side and go Bayern draw no bet at 3- with McBookie.

PSG travel to Ludogerets with mixed domestic form. They lost to Toulouse 2-0 last time out after going down to 10 men and should get the better of the Bulgarians. Best bet here could be Edinson Cavani to score at 13-5 with Paddy Power and McBookie.

Napoli and Benfica are two sides who have started the season well but the Portuguese travel without several players including start striker Jonas. With home advantage Napoli could edge this and are a best . Polish hitman Arkadiusz Milik is 11-10 at William Hill to score.

Bets to Consider

Arsenal to score 3+

Sanchez to score first

Bayern draw no bet

Cavani to score

Napoli

    Bets for today

I think my team will get beat by a few goals tonight and it may be the case of damage limitations. Celtic should score though and I’m looking at in form Tierney for small stakes. The young lad has been in great form and has been pushing himself forward and having a pop at goal. I’m hoping it’s a 1-0 Celtic and Tierney scoring to bring up the 500/1 shot (one can only dream). Stranger things have happened in football. I’ve picked decent prices out in other games too. If I hit one I will still be walking away with substantial profit. If I hit two or more then holiday for October school week is getting booked.

    Celtic vs Man City
    TIERNEY FIRST GOALSCORER @ 100/1
    TIERNEY LAST GOALSCORER @ 100/1
TIERNEY FIRST AND LAST @ 500/1 (Hills)

    Atletico Madrid vs Bayern Munich
PHILIP LAHM FIRST GOALSCORER @ 40/1
    PHILIP LAHM ANYTIME @ 16/1 (P.POWER)

    Borussia vs Barcelona
    PIQUE FIRST GOALSCORER @ 33/1
    PIQUE ANYTIME @ 12/1 (CORAL)

    Arsenal vs Basel
    Oxlade-Chamberlain First Goalscorer @ 10/1 (Bet365)
Santiago Cazorla to be shown a card @ 9/1 (Skybet)

Good luck guys. Out of all the above I really like Pique @ 33/1 for First Goal and 12/1 anytime. Great bet at a great price. Coral very generous with those prices.
