Krejcikova to beat Zheng @ 6/5
Krejcikova is having one of those weeks where she’s playing smashing tennis. She’s through to the semi-final in Riyadh and we think she’ll be going to the final too.
Her opponent is Zheng, who has played really well at the event but is also someone who can be quite streaky. This is a matchup we’ve seen just once in the past, and it was a close one.
Zheng did win that clash, but it was in China, so this time around Krejcikova will have a stronger chance. She’s playing well enough to win and the stakes are really high.
We just like the matchup on paper. Krejcikova is a good hitter when playing well, such as this week. On the other hand, Zheng’s ability to run into serving problems is something that could come back to haunt her, even though she’s been on fire in Riyadh.
Sabalenka to defeat Gauff @ 3/6
These odds might not be the sharpest, but it’s a bet that we feel highly confident suggesting. Gauff has surprised so far this week with a very solid level, but this is a really tough matchup for her.
Sabalenka has been the best player so far at the event – actually, for most of the second half of the season. She’s in her comfort zone and just keeps dominating from the baseline.
The Belarusian ensured she will finish the year as No. 1, and is definitely playing like the best in the world. We just can’t see Gauff doing anything in a matchup where she’ll need to outplay the best hitter in the sport, while her own hitting leaves a lot to be desired.
Even though the odds are a bit lower, this bet just makes sense because Gauff has struggled in this matchup in the past.
