Best WTA Finals betting tips for day 3
Sabalenka is ahead in the odds against Paolini, while in the day’s other match, Elena Rybakina takes on Qinwen Zheng, with the loser eliminated from competition. Let’s see what the best bets are here.
Rybakina to defeat Zheng @ 7/5
Rybakina lost to Paolini, but losing that match was not bad. She played pretty well at times and she will have a good chance of beating Zheng. The reason is simple: the matchup suits her stylistically.
Both are baseline players though Zheng is not as good at hitting as Rybakina is, at least not yet. If the Kazakhstani player finds her best tennis she will win the match. She looked a bit rough in the first match because it was her first match in a while. With that experience though, we expect her to play better here.
Zheng is really good but still quite streaky. We don’t think she’s on the level of Rybakina and this match will show that. The odds are too good to pass up.
Sabalenka vs Paolini – over 19.5 games @ 4/6
Sabalenka is expected to win this match and we agree with that. She looked really good in her first match this week and likely is the player to beat. Paolini did look strong in her win over Rybakina, but a victory here seems a bit out of reach.
There is no value in backing Sabalenka to win because the odds are so low, so what is the play here? It’s backing the over, because most Sabalenka and Paolini’s recent matches have been complicated.
Paolini has even won twice, but what sticks out in their head-to-head is the games total. In the first match, it was 35, in the second match it was 20, in the third one it was 27, and in the final one it was 23.
Most matches have lots of games and are close. It might not go to three sets but at 19.5, the total games market is too good to pass up.
