SOUTHAMPTON boss Mauricio Pochettino reckons skipper Adam Lallana would make the World Cup squad of every nation that's qualified for Brazil.

England boss Roy Hodgson watched the midfielder net two in the 3-0 win at Fulham at the weekend and surely he'll agree.

Ladbrokes have cut Lallana's odds to be on the plane from 11-10 to 10-11 and it's still worth a bet.

Surely only injury will prevent him taking part and Pochettino said: “I have great respect for Roy Hodgson's decisions, it's not up to me to decide who gets on the plane.

“But in my opinion if Adam had a Brazilian nationality, a Spanish nationality, if he were another Mata, Oscar, Hazard, or any of these type of players then, for sure, he would be going with their national side. I truly believe that.”

Rickie Lambert has been cut from 11-8 to 6-5 to make the squad after also scoring in front of Johnson.

The big market mover is Sunderland's on-form star Andy Johnson from 9-1 to 4-1 while Andy Carroll remains at 7-4 after making his comeback for West Ham but being sent off in the win over Swansea.

If Johnson continues to play as he has been he must have a chance of forcing his way in – and of course he'll be in the shop window in the Capital One Cup Final against former side Man City.

Adam Johnson @8/1 on bet365 – with Walcott out and his form steadily starting to impress this looks good.
Caroll @ 11/4 on bet 365 – will surely go if fit as hodgson will take England’s best traditional, big number 9. if fit is a big if though
Oxlade chamberlain 1/1- close to a certainty unless injured. His pace and ability to play on both flanks as well as In the centre of the park are invaluable assets to England and Hodgson knows it.

    Adam Lallana 5/6

    The Ox 6/4

Rickie Lambert 5/6 (Englands big man, great in the air)

Adam Johnson 6/1 (Englands most in form winger right now)

    James Milner 1/4

    Chris Smalling 1/3

    Jordan Henderson 5/4

Looks good to me if injuries can be avoided and Sunderland dont get relegated (Adam Johnson)

benjy, personally I think Johnson has a chance if he plays well until the end of the season. I wouldn’t rule out any of the guys you’ve mentioned but of course just one needs to be injured for the bet to go down.

    Benjy-
If Caroll stays fit and keeps playing like he did against swansea he will go ahead of lambert. Though lamberts almost worth taking just for the inevitable penalty shoot out England find themselves in!

Henderson is a big gamble with the likes of Gerrard, Lampard, Carrick, lallana, wilshere and Barkley all fighting for the central roles. And personally I would put him at the bottom of that pile.

That’s the trouble isn’t it. Still, worth a small punt. Hopefully Stoke behave themselves for the rest of the season and don’t injure any more players

    As,
the reason im backing Henderson is because hes played 90 mins of every prem game for Liverpool this season. Hes made 6 assists and bagged a goal, playing in a deeper position. He has a good relationship with England captain Gerrard and has already notched up 7 caps for England. Hodgson seems fond of Henderson and i think it will be a toss up between old boys lampard and carrick

Henderson only played 68 mins in one game, sorry.

Fair point, the Gerrard relationship will stand him in good stead. Lets not forget about super Tom Cleverly though !!

There are risks and then there is Andy Carroll. I wouldn’t put a penny on him as the World Cup is a few months away and that is more than enough time for him to get injured or in trouble. I think he will finish his career with the ‘If only’ question mark against him. If ‘woy’ doesn’t include Johnson it may come back to haunt him as from what I have seen of him he is exciting to watch and wouldn’t really have to do much more for the press to let ‘woy’ know he needs to include him.

Lallana is a top player, carroll would be a hand full for any defence at world cup. I would be pulling these too on the plane. England relly suck in major tourneys but…. the players are there, if he picks the right players to go. Could b a good world cup for england. Just let the man u players at home roy pls
