The third major of the year gets underway on Monday as Wimbledon takes centre stage during the British summer.
While there may be no Andy Murray in London in 2025, there is plenty of intrigue for a variety of reasons, most notably involving Carlos Alcaraz as he bids to win a third straight men's singles crown.

Best Wimbledon betting tips for day one
Carlos Alcaraz, Fabio Fognini over 27.5 games @ Evens
With Alcaraz priced at 1/100 to prevail from this contest, there is very little value in the other markets. As well as being a two-time champion, Alcaraz also won Queen's earlier this month.
However, as well as losing two tie-break sets, the 22-year-old only won one set by a more dominant scoreline than 6-4. As a result, it is worthwhile giving consideration to over 27 games taking place on Centre Court.
Fognini's retirement from the sport at the age of 38 is imminent but this is someone who has reached the third round of seven occasions, most recently 12 months ago and beating Casper Ruud along the way.
While he may have failed to win any of his three grass-court matches this year, the veteran has the ability and nous to hang around to deliver on this bet.
Emma Raducanu to beat Mingge Xu in three sets at @11/4
With 15 wins from 27 matches this season and back up to 38th in the WTA Rankings, Emma Raducanu can be pleased with where she is at heading into SW19.
Although she bowed out in the last 16 at Eastbourne earlier this week, personal issues contributed to the defeat, which came in a last-set tie-break, but she also has a quarter-finals at the HSBC Championships at Queen's on her recent record.
However, the British number one is facing the free-swinging Mingge Xu, the 17-year-old Welsh teenager who already has two wins over top-100 players.
Furthermore, at junior level, she has reached a Wimbledon doubles final, indicating that she knows her way around a grass court. As a result, there is value in the 11/4 that is on offer for Raducanu to win in three sets, and in the 11/4 for Xu to win the first set.
Sonay Kartal to beat Jelena Ostapenko in three sets @10/3
They may be out on court three but Sonay Kartal against Jelena Ostapenko has the potential to be the tie of the first round, the pair having only played each other this week at Eastbourne.
Kartal's shock run to the third round 12 months ago acted as the springboard for reaching 49th in the WTA rankings and she will only take the positives from playing the Latvian 20th seed a few days ago.
Ostapenko is a quarter-finalist from last year and a semi-finalist in 2018, as well as reaching three career finals on grass. However, Ostapenko sustained an ankle injury in defeat to Alex Eala on Wednesday and there has to be doubts over her fitness heading into this contest.
Taking everything into consideration, Kartal to win in three sets at 10/3 feels huge. There is also value in Ostapenko at 11/4 to win having gone the distance, but we are siding with the Brit who needs a big tournament to defend the ranking points that she earned in 2024.
