This Monday, the tennis world turns its attention to London for the next two weeks, as the best of the best fight it out for the title of Wimbledon champion.
The men’s singles event is shaping up to be another brilliant contest. Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are looking to build their legacies, while Novak Djokovic seeks a record-equalling eighth title. Throw in a handful of interesting dark horses to keep an eye on, and we’ve got a fantastic tournament on our hands.
What are the best bets to make over the next fortnight? We’ve analysed the draw and come up with our Wimbledon 2024 predictions, breaking down who we think is most likely to win, plus the outside chances worth a punt.
Men’s Wimbledon 2024 – Best Outright Bets
No need for any fluff–here are our best outright bets for Wimbledon 2024 in the men’s event.
Best Bet – Novak Djokovic @ 5/2
This time last week, it seemed highly unlikely that Djokovic would even participate in this year’s Wimbledon, let alone win the event.
However, the 37-year-old continues to amaze. This time, it’s courtesy of a miraculous recovery from knee surgery. Barely three weeks ago, Djokovic withdrew from the French Open ahead of the quarter-finals after injuring his knee. He immediately underwent surgery, which many assumed would count him out of Wimbledon, and most likely the Olympics too.
But here he is. Djokovic has been clear that he’ll only participate at Wimbledon if he feels he can win the title. After practice sets against Sinner and Daniil Medvedev this week, the Serbian believes he’ll be able to compete at full strength.
And so do we.
What we saw from Djokovic in Paris was very encouraging. It’s no secret that the 24-time Grand Slam champion has had a rocky season so far, but the biggest issue for Djokovic at this stage of his career is motivation.
At the French Open, Djokovic showed some of the fire-in-the-eyes kind of passion that has been missing for six months. Twice, he turned on the afterburners to win deciding sets when all seemed lost.
Now, stepping onto his familiar stomping ground of Wimbledon, with two young bucks in Sinner and Alcaraz gaining all the attention, don’t expect him to lie down. Djokovic knows what it takes to win on this surface, and will be incredibly motivated to do so this Wimbledon.
Honourable Mention – Jannik Sinner @ 7/4
Sinner is playing brilliant tennis in 2024. The Italian has claimed four titles, including his maiden Grand Slam in January. He’s just picked up a debut grass title as well last week, and comes into Wimbledon in fine form.
We haven’t picked him though, for a few reasons. Firstly, the pressure of being No. 1 is something we haven’t seen Sinner handle on the big stage yet. Sure, he’s done well so far in his career, but this is something different.
Secondly, he’s got a very tough draw. The likes of Matteo Berrettini and Tallon Griekspoor early is tough, and it doesn’t get any easier with a potential quarter-final against Daniil Medvedev and semi-final against Alcaraz. If he does reach the final, we expect Djokovic to have the upper hand.
Best Dark Horse Bets at Wimbledon 2024

Jack Draper @ 18/1
Jack Draper comes to Wimbledon as the No. 1 Brit and a seed at a Grand Slam for the first time. The 22-year-old is playing lights-out tennis the last month. Not only did he just win his maiden ATP title in Stuttgart two weeks ago, but just 10 days ago, he defeated world No. 3 and defending champion Alcaraz at Queen’s.
It’s obviously a big call for Draper to go all the way in London considering he’s never been past a Grand Slam quarter-final. However, he’s long been rated as a talent, loves the grass, and is in fine form. Crazier things have happened.
Matteo Berrettini @ 33/1
Our second dark horse prediction is Matteo Berrettini. The Italian is a dark horse in odds alone–anyone who follows tennis will know he’s a bonafide weapon on grass.
Berrettini is a former Wimbledon finalist, and holds an incredible 78.8 percent win rate on grass across his career. With booming serve, flat forehand and nasty backhand slice, if Berrettini gets hot, watch out.
The 28-year-old faces Sinner in the second round. Upset the top seed, and suddenly Berrettini will find the draw opening up for him to make a deep run at Wimbledon once again.
