Tyson Fury v Oleksandr Usyk Betting Preview

It may have taken a while with extended negotiations and a postponement, but the big one is finally here!

Boxing will crown an undisputed champion for the first time in 25 years as Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk face off in Saudi Arabia for a winner-takes-all-all contest.

How the bookies view it: Titanic Fury vs Usyk battle tough to call

With both fighters currently undefeated and equally motivated, this match-up promises to go down in the history books as the fight of the generation.

On paper, Fury and Usyk are head and shoulders above anything else in the heavyweight division, and bookmakers are finding it hard to split the two at present.

Gypsy King Fury faces ‘biggest challenge’

As expected, Fury comes here as the headline act. Ever since his comeback to boxing in 2018, he has continued to be the face of heavyweight boxing, and you can't really question the Gypsy King’s comeback, as it is nothing short of impressive.

The trilogy with Deontay Wilder is the most obvious starting point.

Yet, it is slightly concerning that Tyson comes here after an underwhelming performance against boxing novice Francis Ngannou.

Fury was knocked down by Ngannou, and some questioned whether he even won that contest. Regardless, Fury will be looking to put that effort behind him as he takes on his biggest challenge to date in the Oleksandr Usyk.

Olympic gold medallist Usyk ready for glory

Usyk is a superstar in his own right, although he isn't as media-oriented as Fury and seems more interested in his boxing legacy than getting involved in the media circus outside the ring.

Usyk is a former Olympic gold medallist who first proved himself in the boxing world when he completely demolished the cruiserweight division.

Since moving up to heavyweight in 2019, Usyk has proven his credentials by beating Derek Chisora and Anthony Joshua.

Our Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk prediction

I can see this becoming like a game of chess for the first six rounds, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them cancel each other out until the later rounds.

Ultimately, though, I think the big man beats the small man here, with Tyson having a six-inch height and seven-inch reach advantage over the Ukrainian.

I fully expect Fury to take an aggressive approach and outscore his opponent. Uysk will be looking to take advantage of his counter-striking abilities, which seem to be his strongest asset.

I'll be having two plays in this fight, which you can find below.

  • Tyson Fury to win on points – 11/5 @ Bet365
  • Fight to end in a draw – 12/1 @ Bet365
