Tuesday’s football tips: Double your money by betting against a lot of cards at Ibrox

Rangers stand on the brink of hitting the Champions League jackpot but face a tough play-off tie, with Club Brugge heading to Ibrox tonight for the first leg.

The club's new American owners will be rubbing their hands if Russell Martin can back them a £40million cheque just a few months into his Ibrox reign.

But Rangers rode their luck to see off Panathinaikos and Viktoria Plzen in the last two rounds and the Belgians represent a step up in class from both those opponents.

Rangers vs Club Brugge top betting tips

Fans are far from convinced with the new style of play Martin is trying to introduce at Rangers, with the opposition having over 100 shots at goals in his first seven games.

Even League One Alloa scored twice at Ibrox on Saturday so some fans are fearing the worst for this clash with a Brugge side who outplayed Celtic in the Champions League last term.

But the Belgians could only draw 1-1 at Parkhead despite their domination and Rangers regularly rise to the occasion on big Euro nights at Ibrox.

Brugge look decent value at 5/4 with BoyleSports and I like the 21/20 at Bet365 for Christos Tzolis to score or assist. The Greek loves a long-range dig and could get a few sights of goal if Rangers continue to cough up chances.

We only saw three cards across the two legs of Brugge's clash with RB Salzburg in the last round. So the best value tonight could be betting against both teams picking up two or more cards, which pays evens at Bet365.

Red Star Belgrade vs Pafos

Cypriot side Pafos are looking to make history by reaching the group stage in their first crack at the Champions League.

But they will need to brave a Belgrade cauldron tonight as they take on a Red Star side with a proud European history.

Pafos have already upset the odds by knocking out Maccabi Tel Aviv and Dynamo Kiev to line up this clash with the Serbs.

They will need to do so again in Belgrade tonight, with Red Star the 4/6 favourites at BoyleSports.

The Serbian giants haven't lost at home since January, when PSV Eindhoven beat them 3-2 in the Champions League.

So they look worthy favourites tonight and you can boost their odds to 20/21 by adding on over 1.5 goals.

Red Star should have most of the pressure so I also like over 6.5 home corners at 7/4.

Ferencvaros vs Qarabag

The other Champions League qualifier tonight is a tricky one to call, with little between the sides as Ferencvaros take on Qarabag.

Both teams have graced the group phase just once before but one of them will be going back to the big time as the winners of this tie.

A 3-0 home win over Ludogorets took Ferencvaros through in the last round so they will be looking to open up a big lead in Hungary tonight.

Qarabag beat Shelbourne and Shkendija home and away to book their place in the play-offs so they won't be pushovers. But Ferencvaros should get their noses ahead at home and look worth a punt at 21/20 for a win on the night.

Barnabas Varga was the Ferencvaros hero in the last round, netting a double in that 3-0 win over Ludogorets. He has six goals from eight appearances this term and is 6/5 at Bet365 for anytime scorer.
