Tuesday’s football tips: Coventry corners bet looks good at 7/5 as they bid to reel in Sunderland

Sunderland have one foot in the EFL Championship play-off final but Coventry City will fancy their chances of turning the tie around at the Stadium of Light tonight.

I tipped Frank Lampard's men to win the first leg last week after Sunderland went into the play-offs in terrible form. But despite dominating possession, City ended up losing 2-1 at home thanks to a late defensive mistake.

A massive crowd will now turn up expecting the Black Cats to finish the job but a one-goal lead is always precarious and it will be fascinating to see how the second leg plays out.

Sunderland vs Coventry City top betting tips

The problem for a manager who has won away from home in a first leg is whether to stick or twist and Regis Le Bris faces that dilemma tonight.

But with 40,000 fans roaring them on, I'd be surprised if Sunderland sat back so this should be a decent watch. The bookies agree as BoyleSports price BTTS at just 3/4 but adding on over 2.5 goals boosts the odds to 13/10.

We saw 14 corners in the first leg, with 10 of them going to Coventry. The Sky Blues need to attack again tonight so I fancy over 5.5 Coventry corners at 7/5 while over 11.5 match flag kicks pays 6/4.

Partick Thistle v Livingston top betting tips

It's the perennial case of momentum v fresher legs tonight as the SPFL Premiership play-off semi-final gets underway.

Partick Thistle head into the game on a high after a brilliant 2-0 win at Ayr overturned a 1-0 first-leg deficit in the quarter-final.

They will now fancy their chances against Livingston after beating the Lions 1-0 away from home on the final day of the regular season to seal their place in the play-offs.

But David Martindale's men have had time off to rest weary limbs and had won four in a row before that slip against the Jags.

So tonight's Firhill first leg is a tricky one to call and the half-time draw looks the safest option at evens with BoyleSports.

Interim player-boss Brian Graham was the Partick hero last week as his double at Ayr made it 100 goals for the club. The veteran striker is 9/4 at Bet365 to add to his tally tonight.

East Fife vs Annan Athletic

The rest of the play-offs in the SPFL are now at the final stage and East Fife take on Annan Athletic tonight in the battle for a place in League One.

The Methil men head into tonight's game with their tails up after an impressive 3-0 win at home to Edinburgh City on Saturday sealed a 3-1 aggregate triumph.

Annan were less impressive at the weekend as they lost 2-1 at home to Elgin but they had done the hard work away from home and still progressed 5-4 on aggregate.

Based on those displays, East Fife look pretty good value at 20/21 with BoyleSports for a win in tonight's first leg with home advantage. Adding on over 1.5 goals boosts the odds to 7/5.

Dick Campbell's men have scored two or more in their last four in Methil so over 1.5 East Fife goals on its own also looks decent at 20/23.
