The Premier League makes a rare midweek appearance as the football authorities try to squeeze in fixtures to accommodate the impending Qatar World Cup.

Tonight's offerings come from Brighton, where Nottingham Forest are the visitors and Selhurst Park where Crystal Palace welcome Wolves.
Forest desperately need a win to kick-start their season but it feels like they're just a level below the well-established Premier League sides who have more nous and quality at this level. Their five points have all been picked up against teams in the bottom half of the table and they've come closest to picking up more points against Fulham and Bournemouth, both also bottom half.
So the Seagulls, who currently occupy 7th in the table, should pick up the points. They are not however, worthy of their odds of just 2/5, which must be one of the shortest prices they've ever been in the Premier League.
In North London, Palace are worth an interest at 6/5. Although 13th in the table there's a lot to like about the Eagles under Patrick Vieira. Their only three defeats this season have come against Arsenal (1st), Man City (2nd) and Chelsea (4th). Beyond that they've had too many draws but they're always tough to beat at home where they've got the better of Leeds and Villa and were a couple of minutes away from a win over Brentford.
Managerless Wolves are still struggling to score goals and have only found the net in four of their 10 matches so far. That's unsustainable and shows no sign of improvement. Saturday's win over Forest was thanks to a penalty, one of only two shots on target. Only Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth have had fewer shots on target this season.
Wilfried Zaha scored in both meetings with Wolves last season so he could be a good option on the scorer markets at 12/5.
In Scotland, we're at the quarter-finals stage of the Premier Sports Cup (the Scottish League Cup in old money). The first tie is at Rugby Park tonight where Dundee United are the visitors to Kilmarnock.
There's nothing between the sides in the Premiership table so who knows how this one will go? Both had poor starts to the season but have strung a run of three without defeat together so they're each going it to this one in decent form. Good luck if you're trying to pick the winner here. Mark Walker can't decide between the sides in his match preview.
In the Championship, Inverness look like a solid home bet at 4/5 at home to toiling Hamilton Accies. It's now five wins in a row for Caley and they've been good wins, including victories over Partick Thistle, Ayr Utd and Dundee – all fellow top-four sides.
Things are heading in the wrong direction for Hamilton who dropped to the bottom of the table on Saturday after a 2-1 defeat to Partick Thistle, making it four straight defeats in a row. Their only win this season has come against fellow strugglers Arbroath.
It's hard to make a case for anything other than a home win for the Highlanders.

For me the don’t see Palace winning this. There’s a bit more bottle and guts about us than under Lage.
