ALL eyes will be on the ‘Battle of Britain' tonight as last season's league runners-up in England and Scotland go head-to-head at Anfield.
Both sides were also losers in European finals last term in a season of what-might-have-been for both clubs. Liverpool have yet to hit the heights of previous seasons while Rangers find themselves within touching distance of champions Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.
The Reds desperately need a win to ignite their season. A 9-0 win over Boruenmouth looked like that would be the catalyst to get things going but they've followed that up with just two wins in their next five matches including a heavy 4-1 defeat to Napoli in the Champions League.
Jurgen Klopp has admitted the team's confidence has taken a knock but is still at a bit of loss to explain their form which has seen the 2019 European Champions win just one of nine this season.
Rangers have found the going tough in Group A, losing their opening two games and conceding seven goals without reply in the process. They might take some hope from the troubles Klopp's team are experiencing at the moment but they're well aware that this Liverpool team can be devastating when they click.
The bookie aren't taking any chances on Liverpool, pricing them up at 1/6 to win, which makes it difficult to find any kind of value in the game if you fancy the home side and it should be a bit closer than the odds suggest.
Bet365 have priced up a few player markets. Mo Salah is 5/6 to have two shots on target, while former Celt Virgil Van Dijk is 9/4 to have an attempt on target against his former rivals. Rangers striker Antonio Čolak looks a good option for the Gers at even money.
Rangers corners could provide some profit. They're 8/13 to win just two and 13/8 to win 3 or more.
Also in that Group tonight Ajax welcome first-placed Napoli. The Italians are flying at the top of Serie A, unbeaten after eight and have won both Champions League matches so far.
Ajax have wobbled in recent weeks. Defeat at Anfield has been followed by a further defeat to AZ and a draw with Go Ahead Eagles at the weekend which has seen them relinquish top spot in Eredivisie.
It's agame that could go either way but BTTS looks an obvious choice, however it's just 1/2 so best left for accas.

Inter v Barcelona is the night's glamour tie at the San Siro. After narrowly missing out on the title last season Inter's campaign appears to have hit the skids. They lie ninth in the table and have struggled to compete with the teams in the upper half of the Serie A table so far.
Barcelona reclaimed top spot in La Liga at the weekend after the 1-0 win over Mallorca was followed up by Real Madrid dropping points at home to Osasuna. It may not be a vintage Barca side, and they're unlikely to be involved in the business end of the Champions League but the bookies reckon they're in the driving seat to claim all three points against a below-par Inter.
Porto suffered a shock defeat at home to Club Brugge last time out but can bounce back with a win over struggling Bayer Leverkusen. That 4-0 loss to the Belgians was a bit of a freak result and a bad day at the office for Porto. They've won four at home in the league averaging 3.75 goals per game and will be out to get things back on track at 11/10 against the Bundesliga side who have won just once domestically.
In the Championship Sunderland look a good option at 20/21 at home to an ailing Blackpool side who were beaten by Norwich at the weekend to make it just one win in seven. The Black Cats are threatening to break in to the top six and a win tonight could take them as high as fourth.
Second-placed Norwich have won their last three visits to Reading by two goals to one and will be given a stern test tonight. The Royals sit just two points behind the Canaries and a close encounter looks on the cards. A win for either side by a single goal pays 7/5 (see Bet365 BetBuilder) and a repeat 2-1 scoreline for the visitors is 8/1.
In Scotland Queen's Park look a handy price at ‘home' to Morton. The Spiders are still playing their games at Stenhousemuir's Ochilveiw Stadium but that hasn't dented their promotion push. They've strung together an impressive run of results to move up to second in the table under Owen Coyle and at 23/20 make plenty of appeal against a Morton side who've lost their last three in the league and were thumped 5-1 by Partick Thistle at the weekend.

Tue 04/10 ⏲ 20:00 – Liverpool v Rangers
Both teams have had a patchy start to the season, especially Liverpool and Klopp admitted at the weekend that they need more confidence. Brighton turned up with all guns blazing on Sat and Liverpool could easily have been 4-0 down before 30 mins if they had taken their chances. You can never write Liverpool off though, especially at Anfield and once they got their first goal Liverpool grew more and more into the game. A slack piece of defending though by Van Dijk at the end cost them another two points which will really hurt, especially after that comeback. There’s talk of a crisis and even talk of the manager’s position but its only seven games, so if and when they get back to full strength, they should start climbing the table again but for me they can forget about the league as I don’t see City slowing down unless Haaland gets injured.
There is no better way to gain some confidence than scoring goals and they have a massive opportunity to do that tonight when facing a Rangers team who have conceded seven without reply in their opening two games in the CL and it could easily have been more. Ajax were up 3-0 after 33 minutes in the first game before taking the foot of the gas in the second half, eventually running out 4-0 winners. Rangers battled well in the second game at Ibrox v Napoli but the class showed in the final third with Napoli running out 3-0 winners, which again could have been more had it not been for the heroics of veteran goalkeeper McGregor saving 2 penalties. Just before the champions league games Rangers played Celtic at Parkhead and were also 3-0 down after 40 mins, which again finished 4-0, confirming once a couple are conceded the heads seem to go down without a fight.
Anything but a Liverpool win will leave serious doubt about getting out of the group so I think Liverpool will come out on the front foot and make a statement. I can see them getting on the scoresheet early and scoring at least two in the first half. Van Dijk will also want to make amends for that error at the weekend and having moved from Celtic to Liverpool, he would love nothing more than to do it against his old foes Rangers tomorrow night.
Note: Rangers have 7 yellows and 1 red in the first two CL games. Connor Goldson is Rangers most booked player this season with 6 yellows, 3 SPL & 3 CL games (including qualifiers).
With that said my best bets are as follows:

Elvis! This site used to have a paid service too when Mr Fixit himself was alive. There was a free area and a section for only subscribers. There was even a VIP only section. I also know of others who were regular and fantastic tipsters here and left to lunch their own paid telegram liness. I can mention Creg Browning who was here as a wonderful regular tipster but now doing well for his numerous paid telegram followers. My point is that if anyone decides to profit from his painstaking research and opinion, it is what it is. So long as the person does not copy the work of other people here to sell, I see no problem at all. To most people in the world now, betting has simply become a business just like stock trading and it so it requires some level of investment.
If people need to pay for tips then they really shouldn’t be betting imo,i said a while back there’s laws coming out to stop people charging for such services it’s just a case of when.

I must admit I agree with you fully. Normally keep my opinions to myself on matters out-with betting but it doesn’t sit overly comfortable with me how it’s being made out on here at times. I’m not trying to put the guys down who do it as I think they are good at what they do, but I think there’s equally good and better advice posted on here for free, and I applaud and respect the members on here who have remained loyal to doing so and some are the most consistent tippers the site has had over a long period of time. It moves on from the ones who leave it and continues to be a fantastic place for knowledge.
I always remember Mr F saying that for as long as this site was running, there should be no need to pay anyone for tips. On top of that, I actually enjoy researching games, keeping an eye on football from all over, I’d rather spend the hour with a coffee looking through the fixtures than listening to someone telling me about them, but that might just be me!
It’s just a shame that even though it might be said otherwise, that’s another good tipster going to disappear sooner or later from this site, as why post your opinions for free when you can charge £20 per month for them. I do hope I am wrong but we’ve seen this movie before.

8 years I spent contributing on this site – when i started contributing at no point was the plan to create a paid service
I don’t owe anyone anything – as my following grew and the amount of time I had to invest in researching and studying also grew, not to mention the hard work that goes into the podcasts, I was well within my rights to move to a paid service and people are happy to pay it because they know what they are getting in return

Totally agree with the comments around paid for tips. This site has completely changed the way I gamble and made it so much more fun. Following some simple bankroll management rules and reading all the free information as well as combining with my own research has enabled me to eek out a small profit.
I rarely post tips these days as I never seem to have anything better than what’s on offer.
I can off some cautionary advice however, if you see a Celtic icon offering advice on a Rangers game or a Rangers icon offering advice on a Celtic game i tend to ignore. Passions run so high in Glasgow it’s almost impossible to be objective.
Nothing is actually going to change about this site tho is it? You get a small ad placed in front of you and it no doubt helps the upkeep of this free site.

With regards to paying for tips, I don’t have an issue. Surely If someone wants to pay another person to provide a service then that’s their choice.
These guys are trolling through fixtures from all over the world, checking form, analyzing stats, checking all the different betting angles and compare the prices from god knows how many bookies then see if there is actually any value to be had, then write up the tip. To do this properly takes a lot longer than you think.
Add to the fact they will be using internet, electricity and probably a laptop, all of which costs money.
Some people don’t have the time to do all that analysis and would rather pay a fee, which when compared to some of the bets they are placing will be a very small percentage, so they will be getting a great ROI if the tipster has a good winrate.
It might not be everyone’s cuppa tea fair enough but they deserve some slack as most provided us with their tips/analysis for free for years.
