Tennis Prediction and Betting Tips 2024

Today’s tennis betting tips feature a player who has been on fire recently, who we’re going to keep backing in Basel. In our other tennis prediction this Thursday, we’re picking youth to triumph over experience. It’s a compelling contest in Vienna, so keep reading to find out what it is.

Best tennis tips and predictions today

We’ve broken down the latest odds from bookmaker Betfred, and these are the two best tennis wagers to make today in our view:

Bautista Agut to defeat Shapovalov @ 1/1

Denis Shapovalov has been playing some decent tennis lately, and he made a good start in Vienna. However, he hasn’t played nearly as well as Bautista Agut, who is currently on a six-match winning streak.

The Spaniard won the Antwerp event and defeated Casper Ruud in the first round here, clearly keeping up his good form. Shapovalov has beaten Bautista Agut twice, including earlier this year in Washington, but things should be different this time around.

The 36-year-old is in a great vein of form right now, playing really well. Shapovalov is certainly not unbeatable; in fact, he often defeats himself with inconsistency.

Given how the matchup has played out in the past, this could be a complicated one, but Bautista Agut seems to be in a better position at the moment. He’s hitting the ball cleanly, and Shapovalov could struggle with that.

Shapovalov’s serve could pose a massive problem for Bautista Agut, but it’s nothing he can’t solve with a bit of smart baseline play and positioning, as we’ve seen from him over recent weeks.

Musetti to defeat Monfils @ 3/5

This is a pretty simple bet, and it mostly comes down to Musetti simply being the better player. That’s just the reality at this stage of Monfils’ career, and while he’s always been a superb indoor player, it’s just not the same anymore.

The serve doesn’t carry him as much as it used to, and he’s not as quick as he once was. Musetti, on the other hand, is able to create all sorts of problems for him.

The Italian also isn’t a liability on hard courts anymore, having found a really solid level on them this year. The matchup has been seen twice this year, with Musetti winning both times.

The only match Monfils won was here in Vienna back in 2021, but that was a long time ago, and he’s not the same player anymore.

Musetti is simply better, and he will show it. For those of you feeling more daring, a 2-0 win for Musetti could offer better odds, although this bet is solid regardless.
