Thursdays top tips 4

Manchester United seem to have turned a corner under new boss Ruben Amorim but the last two games will count for nothing if they slip up at home to rock-bottom Southampton tonight.

The Red Devils showed plenty of character in Sunday's FA Cup tie at Arsenal as they held on for a 1-1 draw with 10 men before winning on penalties.

That came after a promising 2-2 draw at Anfield and United now have a run of kinder fixtures coming up, so Amorim will be looking to build some momentum.

First up is a clash with rock-bottom Southampton and it would be a big surprise if Saints pulled off a shock, although they head to Old Trafford buoyed by a long-overdue win over Swansea in the FA Cup.

Manchester United vs Southampton top betting tips

With Southampton taking just two points from their last 10 Premier League games it's no surprise to see them as BoyleSports' 17/2 outsiders for this one.

Manchester United are just 2/7 but this is a different kind of game to their last two outings as they will need to be on the front foot instead of sitting back and hitting on the counter attack.

Amad Diallo started on the bench at Arsenal but I'd imagine the in-form winger will start tonight as his pace and trickery will be needed to break down the Saints defence,

He's 13/8 for anytime scorer at BoyleSports but an assist might be more likely and that pays 11/4 with Bet365.

Manchester United won 7-0 on the corner count when they beat Southampton 3-0 at St Mary's earlier this season. That market could be worth a look and United -3.5 in the corner handicap appeals tonight at evens with BoyleSports.

Ipswich Town vs Brighton and Hove Albion top betting tips

The other Premier League game tonight sees Ipswich host Brighton and it's a tricky one to call with the Tractor Boys showing some signs of life at the foot of the table.

Kieran McKenna's men stunned Chelsea with a 2-0 win in their last Premier League home game and have since followed that up with a draw at Fulham and an FA Cup stroll against Bristol Rovers.

That has given them a fighting chance of moving out of the drop zone but it won't be easy against a talented Seagulls side who roared back to life in the Cup at the weekend.

A few people thought Brighton might be at risk of a shock against Norwich after an eight-game run without a victory but they eased to a 4-0 win at Carrow Road.

It promises to be a tight one tonight and the half-time draw appeals at 5/4 with BoyleSports.

Both sides have plenty of attacking talent so we should see a few goals. BTTS pays just 6/10 but if you add on over 2.5 goals it boosts the odds to evens.

Shrewsbury Town vs Wrexham top betting tips

Wrexham's bid for a third successive promotion remains on track but FC Hollywood face a League One test tonight on the road at Shrewsbury.

A win  would move Phil Parkinson's men above Wycombe Wanderers into second place and Wrexham are in great form, with just one defeat in their last 11 outings.

That loss did come on their last road trip though and they face a Shrews side scrapping for points as they bid to move out of the drop zone.

Shrewsbury have won just once in their last eight and lost 1-0 at Leyton Orient in their last outing. So Wrexham look decent value at 5/6 and you can boost the odds to 29/20 by adding on over 1.5 goals.

Wrexham's last three games have hit double figures for corners so I also like over 10.5 flag kicks in this one at 11/10 with BoyleSports.
