Here are this week's selections.

Our Super 6 Challenge predictions

Arsenal vs Hull City

Arsenal's recent performances provide a strong argument for a comfortable home victory over Hull City, with Mikel Arteta's side demonstrating their ability to control matches and restrict opponents to relatively few opportunities.

The Gunners recorded an important 1-0 victory at Liverpool last weekend, despite generating only 0.81 xG from 10 shots. They created two big chances and placed three attempts on target, while Liverpool failed to register a single shot on target despite having 17 attempts.

Arsenal were considerably more productive in their previous home victory over Everton, winning 2-0 after generating 2.39 xG from 20 shots. They created three big chances and restricted Everton to 0.56 xG, demonstrating their strength at both ends.

Hull's recent attacking performances suggest they will struggle to match those figures. Their 2-2 draw with Ipswich produced only 0.68 xG from nine attempts, with three shots on target and one big chance. Ipswich created four big chances and 1.12 xG. Hull also drew 1-1 with Brentford, allowing six shots on target and 1.75 xGA.

Arsenal's attacking output at home and their ability to limit opposition chances point towards a comfortable victory. Hull have shown enough defensive weaknesses to suggest the hosts will score more than twice.

  • Score: Arsenal 3-0 Hull City at 11/2

Fulham vs Newcastle United

Fulham's attacking numbers at Craven Cottage suggest they have a strong opportunity to secure another victory, particularly against a Newcastle side struggling defensively on their travels.

The hosts average 2.13 xG across their four home Premier League fixtures, scoring 1.50 goals per game. They have found the net in every home match, although their defensive record is less convincing, with 1.75 goals conceded per fixture.

Fulham's recent 1-1 draw at Aston Villa demonstrated their ability to create chances against competitive opposition. They produced 2.86 xG from 14 shots, with five on target and four big chances. Villa generated 1.80 xG and created four big chances themselves.

Newcastle have conceded an average of 2.00 goals across four away league matches, allowing 1.68 xGA per game. Those figures suggest Fulham should receive opportunities to exploit weaknesses in the visitors' defence. Newcastle have nevertheless scored in all four away fixtures, making a Fulham clean sheet difficult to predict.

Their recent 4-1 defeat at Coventry also highlighted defensive problems. Newcastle created 2.27 xG from 19 shots and three big chances, but conceded four goals despite Coventry generating only 1.69 xG.

Fulham's stronger home attacking figures give them the advantage, although Newcastle's scoring record suggests both teams will contribute.

  • Score: Fulham 2-1 Newcastle United at 7/1

Nottingham Forest vs Manchester City

Manchester City's away record provides the strongest argument for a victory at the City Ground, particularly against Nottingham Forest opponents struggling to turn chances into goals.

Forest suffered a 2-0 defeat at Brentford last weekend despite generating 1.08 xG from 15 shots. They managed only one attempt on target, illustrating the finishing problems which have undermined their performances.

The hosts have failed to score in all four home Premier League fixtures, averaging 0.97 xG per match. Their overall league record is equally concerning, with six goals scored from approximately 14.86 xG.

City have won three of their four away league matches, averaging 2.25 goals scored and 0.75 conceded. Their defensive performances have been particularly effective on the road, allowing 0.84 xGA per game and keeping two clean sheets.

Their recent 1-0 defeat against Brighton was frustrating, but the underlying figures were encouraging. City generated 2.06 xG from 21 shots, six on target and five big chances, while Brighton managed seven attempts.

Enzo Maresca's side followed that disappointment with a 3-2 Champions League victory at RB Leipzig, where Erling Haaland scored the winner.

Forest's home defence has generally restricted opponents to 0.95 xGA per match, suggesting City will need to work for their opportunities. Nevertheless, the visitors' superior attacking efficiency and Forest's failure to score at home point towards a City victory without conceding.

  • Score: Nottingham Forest 0-2 Manchester City at 17/2

Crystal Palace vs Liverpool

Crystal Palace's recent performances suggest Liverpool should have opportunities at Selhurst Park, although the visitors' own underlying numbers leave room for the hosts to score.

Palace were beaten 2-0 at Tottenham last weekend, producing only 0.21 xG from two shots. They managed one attempt on target and failed to create a big chance, although Jean-Philippe Mateta's early dismissal significantly affected the contest.

Their previous home defeat against Newcastle was considerably more encouraging from an attacking perspective. Palace generated 1.83 xG from 17 attempts, with four shots on target and two big chances, but failed to score.

Liverpool also suffered a frustrating result last weekend, losing 1-0 at home to Arsenal. They recorded 1.71 xG from 17 shots but failed to test the goalkeeper, demonstrating the difference between their attacking involvement and finishing.

The visitors were more efficient in their previous 2-0 victory over Brighton, scoring twice from 1.06 xG and 13 shots. Brighton nevertheless generated 1.66 xG, suggesting Liverpool's defensive performance was less convincing than the clean sheet indicated.

Liverpool also secured a 2-1 away victory at Brentford, showing their ability to recover after conceding. Palace's chance creation against Newcastle suggests they have enough attacking threat to score, but Liverpool's stronger recent results provide the basis for a narrow away victory.

  • Score: Crystal Palace 1-2 Liverpool at 13/2

Sunderland vs Chelsea

Chelsea head to the Stadium of Light following a convincing victory over Manchester United, while Sunderland's recent results highlight difficulties converting attacking opportunities. Chelsea defeated United 2-0 last weekend, generating 2.44 xG from 19 shots. They placed 10 attempts on target and created four big chances, while restricting their opponents to 1.12 xG.

That performance followed a disappointing 2-0 home defeat against Tottenham, when Chelsea managed only 0.53 xG from seven shots and created one big chance. The contrast between those performances illustrates Chelsea's inconsistency, although their latest attacking display provides encouragement ahead of this trip.

Sunderland lost 3-1 at Coventry despite generating 2.07 xG from 17 attempts. They managed only two shots on target, while Coventry scored three times from 0.76 xG. The hosts were also held to a goalless draw by Leeds in their previous home league fixture. Sunderland produced 0.97 xG from 15 shots, with four on target and one big chance.

Their recent 2-0 home defeat against Brighton brought another disappointing attacking return, with 0.98 xG and three shots on target. Chelsea's ability to generate clear opportunities against United suggests they should score twice, although Sunderland's underlying performance at Coventry points towards the hosts creating chances of their own.

  • Score: Sunderland 1-2 Chelsea at 7/1

Manchester United vs Aston Villa

Manchester United's defensive problems make Aston Villa an appealing choice for an away victory, although the underlying attacking figures suggest the hosts should also create opportunities. United have won only one of their opening nine Premier League matches, conceding 15 goals without keeping a clean sheet.

Their latest defeat came at Chelsea, where they lost 2-0 despite producing 1.12 xG from 12 shots and creating four big chances. United's previous home performance was even more concerning. They suffered a 3-0 defeat against Bournemouth, allowing six big chances and conceding three times from 1.39 xGA. Michael Carrick's side created 1.26 xG from 17 attempts in that fixture, with five shots on target, but failed to score.

Villa have already demonstrated their ability to defeat stronger opponents, beating Manchester City 2-1 despite generating only 0.66 xG from eight shots. They converted two of their opportunities while City produced 1.79 xG.

Their latest 1-1 draw with Fulham was less convincing defensively. Villa allowed 2.86 xGA and four big chances, suggesting United should have opportunities at Old Trafford. Across their away league fixtures, Villa average 1.22 xG and concede 1.66 xGA, indicating matches where both sides have opportunities to score.

United's failure to keep a clean sheet remains the decisive factor. Villa have enough attacking quality to exploit those weaknesses, although the hosts' chance creation suggests they should score once.

  • Score: Manchester United 1-2 Aston Villa at 10/1

The total odds for all six games are a massive 326,039 with Skybet, which may be worth a £1 stake for some fun, I am keen to back Arsenal to beat Hull City 3-0 and Man City to see off Forest 2-0. Combining these two games combined give you odds of 61/1 with Skybet.
