ENGLAND get their Euro 2024 campaign underway tonight and Gareth Southgate will be looking to silence some of the doubters with a win and a good performance against Serbia.
The Three Lions are favourites to lift the trophy at the start of the tournament after going so close in the final three years ago on home soil.
But Southgate's side haven't been playing like potential champions in the build-up, with an unconvincing win over Bosnia followed by a shock defeat by Iceland at Wembley.
The England boss can take some heart from the fact his side were also in poor form heading to the last World Cup before romping to a 6-2 win over Iran in their opener.
But Serbia should be a tougher nut to crack than the Iranians and Dragan Stojkovic has the firepower to test a defence that looks fragile.

A weak defence could end up costing the English this summer, with both Luke Shaw and John Stones struggling for fitness heading into the opener.
Southgate's backline will certainly be tested on day one with the Serbs boasting top-class strikers in the shape of Aleksandar Mitrovic and Dusan Vlahovic. If boss Stojkovic is brave and plays both of them he could get some joy and BTTS looks good at evens with Bet365.

The other Group C clash today sees Denmark face Slovenia and these sides know each other well having also been in the same qualifying section.
Both those qualifiers were close, with a draw in Slovenia and a 2-1 Danish win in Copenhagen, so this should be tight. The Slovenians are 21/20 in the double chance and that could be worth a punt given opening matches often end in draws.
The Danes conceded in both their warm-up games and are now up against an attack spearhead by the dangerous Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig. That makes BTTS appealing again at evens while over 3.5 Slovenia shots on target is the same price.
Poland vs Netherlands Top Tips
The early game should be a good watch as dark horses the Netherlands look to start in style against Poland in Hamburg.
The Poles head into this game without star strikers Robert Lewandowski and Arkadiusz Milik so they've been written off by the bookies, with Bet365 pricing them at 5/1.
The Netherlands are 11/20 hot favourites but if you back them to be winning at half-time and full-time the price increases to 6/4.
