Scotland's slump has continued into the UEFA Nations League and it's hard to see things getting any better when they take on Portugal tonight.
Despite playing well against Poland at Hampden on Thursday and rallying from 2-0 down, a daft stoppage-time challenge from Grant Hanley gifted the Poles a late penalty winner.
It's now just one win in 13 games for Steve Clarke's side – and even that victory came against minnows Gibraltar. So it's hard to make a case for them getting anything in Lisbon tonight.
Portugal may have flopped at Euro 2024 but they still have a squad packed with talent and kicked off their Nations League campaign by beating Croatia 2-1 on Thursday.
Portugal vs Scotland top betting tips
While Clarke has plenty of top Premier League players at his disposal, the problem is he still has a Championship player at centre-back and a striker who's now playing in League One.
Scotland have been leaking goals at an alarming rate and Portugal's lively forwards could get plenty of joy. Combining a Portugal win with over 2.5 goals pays just 3/4 at Betfred but backing the home side to score in both halves is a bit better at 5/6.
There's more value in the anytime scorer market, although it's hard to predict who will start up front for Roberto Martinez's side as he has so many top-class players to pick from.
He might mix things up with such a short turnaround in games and Dioga Jota looks good at 7/5 for a goal if he's promoted from the bench.
The card markets could offer some value too and Anthony Ralston looks a bit overpriced at 3/1 to go in the book.
Bulgaria vs Northern Ireland top tips
There hasn't been much for Northern Ireland fans to cheer in recent years but they're showing signs of a resurgence under Michael O'Neill.
After some decent results and displays in friendlies, the Irish kicked off their UEFA Nations League campaign with a 2-0 home win over Luxembourg on Thursday night.
The big challenge for O'Neill is finding a way to win on the road, with Northern Ireland's only competitive victory on the road in the last three years coming against minnows San Marino.
They stand a chance against Bulgaria but Betfred make them 15/8 outsiders with the home side at 7/5. Bulgaria kicked off the group with a 0-0 draw in Belarus so betting against goals might be the best move.
Under 2.5 goals pays just 8/15 but betting against BTTS is a little better at 8/11. Combing those picks in a bet builder takes you to 10/11.
With Bulgaria having home advantage they look decent value at 10/11 for most corners while Millwall's George Saville is 15/8 for a card at Bet365.
Switzerland vs Spain top betting tips
Spain's all-conquering side couldn't find a way past Serbia in their UEFA Nations League opener and it will be interesting to see how they respond against Switzerland.
There was a bit of a hangover after Euro 2024 as Luis de la Fuente's side drew a Belgrade blank, while the Swiss slumped to a 2-0 loss in Denmark on the same night.
Betfred make the European champions 7/10 hot favourites for a win tonight with Switzerland 4/1 outsiders but it could be another tough game for Spain.
Denmark had to wait until the 82 minute to break down a Swiss side down to 10 men and their clincher only came after another red card for Granit Xhaka.
So I fancy most goals to come after the break tonight at 21/20 while Spain -2 in the corner handicap also appeals at 5/4 with Bet365 after they won nine flag kicks in Serbia.

Not a fan of internationals especially when they are pretty much glorified friendlies but based on the very poor run Scotland are on right now I’ve opted for this as a single
Portugal ht/ft@4/5
Good luck all and well done winners so far today
I’m with ya mate i don’t really like betting on internationals of any sort if i do it’s really small stuff for abit of interest.
Internationals can be lucrative.
Only if you pick the right ones that is
One thing I like about internationals is the O1.5 MGls line is priced higher than normal games, and a lot of them do see 2 goals per match.
I made tons of profit on the Euros and that was just off own goals.
Well except the Bulgaria game Alex for my 5 fold ?
Yeah own goals were a gold mine for the euros. As were penalties in the last World Cup.
Unfortunate there Deano.
And that would be why I normally avoid them ?
Earlier bet lost no Azerbaijan goal ?.
