Sundays top tips 3

It promises to be a Super Sunday for punters today with the EFL Cup Final at Wembley and three tasty derbies to tuck into.

Newcastle are out to banish 70 years of hurt at Wembley as they bid to lift their first major domestic trophy since getting their hands on the FA Cup back in 1955.

But they face a tough task in the EFL Cup showpiece as holders and runaway Premier League leaders Liverpool stand in their way.

Liverpool vs Newcastle United top betting tips

The bookies reckon the misery will go on for the Magpies as BoyleSports make Liverpool 1/3 hot favourites to lift the trophy, with Newcastle as big as 9/4.

Those odds are probably down to Eddie Howe being without key men such as Anthony Gordon, Sven Botman and Lewis Hall but Liverpool are also missing Trent Alexander-Arnold and played 120 draining minutes against PSG in midweek.

So this final could be a lot closer than the odds suggest and there might be some value in backing Newcastle at such a good price.

Stats bets offer the best option for punters though and a double on midfield duo Alexis MacAllister and Bruno Guimaraes each committing over 1.5 fouls pays 3/1 in a bet builder at Bet365.

Last year's final was settled by a Virgil van Dijk goal deep into extra time and the Reds skipper is always a threat from set-pieces. He's 11/4 at BoyleSports to have an effort on target today.

Celtic v Rangers top betting tips

A huge day of derby action kicks off with an Old Firm blockbuster as Celtic and Rangers collide at Parkhead.

There's not much at stake in terms of league position as the Hoops are already 16 points clear in the SPFL Premiership and motoring towards another Treble.

But Barry Ferguson's appointment as interim boss has added a bit of spice and the former Ibrox skipper will be deseperate not to lose his first derby.

Rangers had a draining Europa League clash with Fenerbahce on Thursday and lost 3-0 on their last trip to Parkhead so it's no surprise to see them as 7/2 outsiders with BoyleSports today.

But the Ibrox side always seem to play better when written off and they have scored three times in each of the last two derbies. I reckon we'll get goals at both ends today and combining BTTS with over 2.5 goals pays 20/23.

Card bets usually offer good value in this fixture and a double on midfield adversaries Nico Raskin and Arne Engels going into the book pays a generous 10/1 at Bet365.

Dundee United vs Dundee top betting tips

There's another derby later in the day in the SPFL Premiership as the Dundee clubs do battle at Tannadice.

Both teams are desperate for a win, with United chasing a third-place finish and the Dark Blues looking to move out of the relegation play-off place.

Dundee won by a single goal when these sides last met in the Scottish Cup back in January. But BTTS and over 2.5 goals landed in the three derbies before that so I'm going to combine those bets today at 13/10 with BoyleSports.

All three meetings this season have hit double figures for corners so backing over 10.5 flag kicks also appeals at 20/23.

Sheffield Wednesday v Sheffield United top betting tips

The stakes are also high in the Steel City derby as Sheffield Wednesday look to put a dent in the EFL Championship automatic promotion hopes of rivals United.

Wednesday are still in the hunt for a play-off spot themselves so it promises to be a tense 90 minutes. The half-time draw is usually a good option when local rivals collide and it has come up in the last four meetings. So that bet offers decent value at evens with BoyleSports today.

Fans have been starved of thrills in this fixture, with just one goal scored across the last four derbies. So betting against BTTS could pay off at 20/21 with BoyleSports.

Going for corners is probably safer, with the last five meetings all hitting double figures. Over 10.5 corners pays a decent evens today.
