With only one Ligue 1 match taking place on Saturday – albeit an exciting one – we’ll see the French top flight in full swing on Sunday with six fixtures.
The battle for the top is more closely contested than ever, with no fewer than five teams level on 14 points ahead of the start of the round. In other words, anything could happen.

Today’s Ligue 1 betting tips & predictions
Monaco vs. Lille (2pm)
Monaco have hit a few rough patches following their strong start and no longer look anything like the most dominant team in the league.
Lille are also looking to regain their former consistency after just one win in their last three league matches.
It’s hard to predict what will happen here, but given the importance of the match, I’d go for over 3.5 cards. Both sides can score goals, but given that four of the last five H2Hs featured less than two goals, I’d stay clear of the goal markets.

Angers vs. Lorient (4:15pm)
Only one side has conceded more goals than Angers at this point. Their stats were quite different until a couple of weeks ago, but they conceded five goals in back-to-back defeats.
Lorient have been far more consistent in their performances and have the tied-second best defence in the league. Goals have hardly been their specialty, however, as they average just one goal per match.
Another fixture that is hard to predict, but I believe we will not see too much action between the two teams. Four of the last five competitive H2Hs finished with fewer than three goals.
Angers vs. Lorient top betting tip: Under 2.5 goals
Auxerre vs. Le Mans (4:15pm)
Following their dreadful start to the season, Auxerre are currently one of the teams in the best form, having won three of their last four matches.
Given that Le Mans are the league’s weakest away side, there are strong indications that the hosts will continue in the right direction and add another three points to their tally.
The odds are surprisingly good, so I think it’s worth a bet, and I’d even add over 1.5 goals for Auxerre.

Marseille vs. Le Havre (4:15pm)
Marseille are still a long way off where they want to be, but at least they’re heading in the right direction in Ligue 1, where they’ve recorded two consecutive wins.
This is a match they simply cannot afford to lose, given that Le Havre are the weakest side and remain the only team yet to secure a win.
The bookmakers are still offering some value on a Marseille win, but it is quite possible that the odds will drop sharply in the hours leading up to the match.

Rennes vs. Strasbourg (4:15pm)
If things go well in their remaining fixtures and they win on Sunday, Rennes could well find themselves at the top of the table.
Strasbourg continue to dig themselves into a hole, having suffered their third consecutive league defeat. It is a fact, however, that they score plenty of goals. These are two of the three teams with the highest-scoring matches so far, with six out of seven matches involving these two sides ending with over 2.5 goals.
Rennes have so far relied mainly on their home form, where they have been significantly dominant. I expect them to win here, but I also expect there to be plenty of goals.

Toulouse vs. Troyes (4:15pm)
Toulouse have been a pleasant surprise so far, although they are still a long way off the leaders. The fact is that their form is improving, having gone four matches in a row without defeat.
Troyes continue to march confidently towards a return to the lower division, having now suffered five consecutive defeats following their promising start.
Toulouse are unbeaten against this opponent in 12 consecutive matches, with their last defeat dating back to 2006. I believe they will continue this run.
