After delivering winning selections on Tuesday and Wednesday, SlipsTips returns with a Bet Builder for West Ham's Europa League semi-final first leg with Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday night.
West Ham United vs Eintracht Frankfurt (Thursday, 20:00)
The London Stadium plays host to the first leg of West Ham United and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Europa League semi-final on Thursday night.
David Moyes’ men, who are having another season to remember, claimed the scalp of Sevilla before putting Lyon to the sword in the previous round.
As for Frankfurt, they have also shown that they are capable of upsetting the odds following their eye-catching elimination of Barcelona at the quarter-final stage.
However, it's the Hammers who head into the first leg as general 10/11 favourites, but I suspect this contest could be closer than the odds suggest.
As such, I’m going to dip into Bet 365’s Bet Builder market and merge over zero Eintracht Frankfurt goals and over two Eintracht Frankfurt corners at 4/5
Having already turned over both Real Betis and Barcelona in their own backyards, Oliver Glasner’s guests certainly won’t be fazed by the task in hand on Thursday night.
The Bundesliga outfit have yet to taste defeat in the Europa League this season, having avoided defeat in each of their 10 outings to date, and it’s worth pointing out that they have made the net bulge at least once on each of those ocaasions.
That doesn’t bode well for a West Ham backline that have bagged just seven clean sheets in 34 Premier League games this season, not to mention they have leaked at least one goal in three of their last five continental clashes.
What’s more, injuries are beginning to take their toll on an already thin squad, with manager Moyes facing a major defensive headache ahead of Thursday’s first leg tie.
I’m therefore happy to side with the Eagles to get on the scoresheet in East London, but to boost the odds, I’ll also back the visitors to hit a minimum of three corners.
Frankfurt, who’s preferred system focuses on width, have proven prominent in the corner rankings this term, averaging a healthy 5.71 per game in the German top-flight – a tally only marginally topped by two other teams.
With all this in mind, as well as the fact that the above-mentioned Bet Builder has paid out in nine of Frankfurt’s 10 Europa League matches this season so far, supporting the same selection at the London Stadium on Thursday night holds obvious appeal.
Recommended Bet
