SlipsTips has lined up a Premier League double ahead of Sunday's round of top-flight fixtures from England.
Chelsea vs West Ham (Sunday, 14:00)
Chelsea will aim to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they welcome West Ham United to Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The Blues missed the chance to consolidate their position in third place following a 4-2 defeat at home to Arsenal in midweek, while the Hammers’ top-four hopes are hanging by a thread following a 1-1 draw with Burnley last time out.
Given that another slip-up here might just get Thomas Tuchel’s team looking over their shoulder, I’m going to back Chelsea to score two or more goals as the first part of a 10/11 (William Hill) double.
Only Liverpool and Manchester City have scored more goals than Chelsea in the Premier League this season, with the Blues making the net bulge twice or more in 18 (58%) of their 31 top-flight outings to date.
Whilst West Ham are having another season to remember, David Moyes' men tend to fall short when paying the Premier League's elite a visit, having fallen to defeat in each of their six trips to sides currently housed in top-eight.
What’s more, the injury-hit Hammers – who could have one eye on their Europa League semi-final with Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday – have failed to keep a clean sheet in 27 of their 33 league games this season so far, conceding multiple goals on 14 of those occasions.
Liverpool vs Everton (Sunday, 16:30)
Liverpool will look to ensure they remain hot on the heels of Manchester City when they meet arch-rivals Everton at Anfield on Sunday.
I've covered this match-up in more detail in a separate match preview but I’m also going to factor this fixture into the second-half of my double.
Here we see two teams who’ve been in contrasting form come together, with Liverpool slugging it out with Man City for the title, while the Toffees are fighting for top-flight survival.
Given that the Reds can ill afford to drop any more points if they are to wrestle back the Premier League title from Citizens, I’ll round off the 10/11 (William Hill) wager with a Liverpool victory.
Jurgen Klopp’s side boast the league’s best home record, having avoided defeat in 16 outings at Anfield to date, not to mention they have banked maximum points in each of their last 11 outings at their Merseyside base.
Everton, on the other hand, are carrying the division’s worst away record, with no points to show from their last six road trips, and they look set to suffer a similar fate when they make the short trip across the city on Sunday.
