SlipsTips shares a selection ahead of Nottingham Forest’s clash with Brentford in the Premier League on Thursday night.
Nottingham Forest vs Brentford (Thursday, 19:30)
Nottingham Forest continue their quest for Champions League qualification with a home game against Brentford in the Premier League on Thursday night.
The Tricky Trees will be looking to rebound from Sunday’s 2-0 FA Cup semi-final defeat against Man City, while Brentford will be looking to build on their 4-2 win over Brighton last time out.
I’ve already covered this City Ground showdown in a separate match preview but I’ve since identified another player-based selection that catches the eye.
Nottingham Forest defender Neco Williams has been priced up at 4/5 with PaddyPower to commit a minimum of one foul on Thursday night and that looks too big to ignore.
The Forest full-back has found himself on the referee's radar on a fairly regular basis this season, averaging 0.85 fouls per game in the Premier League.
That average has been on the rise in recent weeks, with the Welshman overstepping the mark in five of his last six top flight outings.
It’s also worth noting that Williams has collected seven yellow cards across his 34 appearances for Forest in all competitions this season, the most recent of which came against Manchester United at home earlier this month.
In fact, it was William’s habit for tackling himself into trouble that saw him suspended for Sunday’s aforementioned 2-0 loss to Man City at Wembley.
With the 24-year-old expected to come straight back into the Forest side on Thursday night, he holds plenty of appeal to get on the wrong side of the referee once or more.
William’s direct opponent is likely to be Brentford’s Kevin Schade, a player who has proven very adept at earning his side set-pieces this season.
The Bees forward is drawing an average of 1.45 fouls per 90 in the top flight this term, racking up a combined total of nine across his last five appearances.
What’s more, Schade was brought down twice during this season’s reverse fixture, and that only adds to the appeal of siding with a minimum of one misdemeanour from Williams at the City Ground on Thursday night.
