SlipsTips shares a selection ahead of Bristol City’s clash with Wolves in the English Championship on Wednesday night.
Bristol City vs Wolves (Wednesday, 20:00)
Bristol City host Wolves at Ashton Gate in one of three English Championship fixtures on Wednesday night.
The Robins sit in mid-table, but will be in better spirits after ending a four-game winless run with a 3-2 win away at Bolton last time out.
As for Wolves, they ended the weekend in third spot, having won three of their last four after a comfortable 3-0 victory over Cardiff.
Bristol City have lost four of their six league games at home this season, so it is no surprise to see in-form Wolves priced up as favourites.
However, Fernando Lopez to be fouled twice or more at 6/5 (bet365) looks like a good value alternative.
The classy Wolves attacking midfielder has been one of his side’s standout performers this season, scoring six goals and providing three assists across 12 Championship appearances, with his latest strike coming against Cardiff at the weekend.
His influence means he regularly attracts close attention and robust challenges, reflected in the fact that he is drawing an average of 2.11 fouls per game in the Championship this season.
Looking closer, the 22-year-old Spaniard has earned his side multiple free kicks in each of his last four league outings.
Even more encouraging for this selection is the fact that Lopez has been brought down exactly three times across that four-game stretch.
Bristol City tend to line up with three central midfielders and two wing-backs, which should give Lopez plenty of opportunities to draw fouls.
Jason Knight does much of the dirty work in midfield for the hosts, averaging 1.58 fouls per 90 in the second tier and committing two or more in five of his last seven outings.
So, all things considered, Lopez looks worth backing at 6/5 to draw at least two fouls again at Ashton Gate on Wednesday night.
