SlipsTips shares a selection ahead of Flamengo’s clash with Bayern Munich at the Club World Cup on Sunday night.
Flamengo vs Bayern Munich (Sunday, 21:00)
Both into the last 16 following an eventful climax to their group-stage campaign, Flamengo and Bayern Munich will square off at the Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday night.
A 1-1 draw with LAFC was enough to see Flamengo claim top spot in Group D, while Bayern Munich made through to the knockout round after finishing as runners-up to Benfica in Group C.
I’ve already penned an in-depth match preview ahead of this round of 16 showdown but I’m going to take this opportunity to go into more detail in regards to one of the three recommended selections outlined.
As already mentioned in the above-linked preview, Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane holds plenty of appeal to either score or assist here at (4/5) on PaddyPower.
While Kane has just one Club World Cup goal to his name thus far, he completed 90 minutes in just one of Bayern Munich’s three group games, coming off early against Auckland and then starting on the bench against Benfica.
However, the England skipper did strike against Boca Juniors on matchday two, not to mention he provided an assist for good measure.
Kane was also prolific on the goal involvement front on the domestic scene this season, registering a mighty impressive 26 goals and 10 assists across his 31 Bundesliga appearances.
That return is made all the more impressive by the fact Kane also hit 11 goals and set up two goals across his 13 outings in the most recent edition of the Champions League.
Thus, backing Kane at 4/5 on PaddyPower to either score or assist on Sunday night is a price that definitely represents value.
While Flamengo certainty showed during the group stage that they are no pushovers, they were not particularly watertight at the back.
In fact, Filipe Luis’ side failed to keep the back door shut in two of their three group games, conceding against both Chelsea and LAFC.
That doesn’t bode well ahead of a clash with a Bayern Munich side stacked with attacking talent, making the aforementioned Kane the prime candidate to make his mark in Florida.
