For the first of two player-based selections, I’ll back Ethan Ampadu to commit a minimum of one foul on Monday night. The Welsh international is sure to be in the thick of what will be a fiery midfield battle at Elland Road.
Ampadu was a frequent offender in the English Championship last season, averaging a sizable 1.50 fouls per game. Now stepping up a level to the top tier of English football, the 24-year-old should have even more defensive work to get through this season, starting on matchday one against Everton.
Idrissa Gueye To Commit 1+ Foul
Elsewhere in the midfield battleground, I’m also more than happy to include Idrissa Gueye to fall foul of the referee on at least one occasion on Monday night. The experienced Everton midfielder has long been a regular on the referee’s radar, averaging a noteworthy 1.62 fouls per 90 in the top flight last term.
On top of that, Gueye racked up no fewer than eight yellow cards across his 37 appearances for Everton last season, including in three of his final seven outings of the campaign.
Over 2 Cards
With a keenly-contested affair anticipated at Elland Road on Monday night, I’ll conclude the Bet Builder with three or more match cards. Despite winning last season’s English Championship title, Leeds did average north of 1.5 team cards per game in the second tier.
