SlipsTips shares a selection ahead of East Fife’s encounter with Bonnyrigg Rose in Scottish League Two on Saturday afternoon.
East Fife vs Bonnyrigg Rose (Saturday, 15:00)
Seeking to tighten their hold on top spot in Scottish League Two, East Fife entertain Bonnyrigg Rose at Bayview on Saturday afternoon.
Dick Campbell's side have ramped up their title charge in recent months, taking top honours from seven of their last eight tier four tussles, the most recent of which was a 1-0 success away at Spartans.
That doesn’t bode well for an eighth-placed Bonnyrigg Rose side that have lost six of their last nine league games, including each of their last five assignments away from their New Dundas Park base.
With East Fife a touch too short to side with on the nose here, I’ll instead back the league leaders to overcome a -0.75 hurdle on the Asian Handicap at 4/5 with UniBet.
This selection would deliver a full pay-out if the home team triumph by two goals or more, with a half-stakes winner secured if Campbell’s crew claim a victory by a one-goal margin.
As already alluded to, East Fife have won seven of their last eight league games, including each of their last five at their Fife headquarters.
That sequence of home wins is made all the more impressive by the fact that East Fife have won by a three goal margin or more in three of their last four outings in front of their own supporters.
In fact, the Fifers boast the best home record in the division this season, emerging victorious from a sizable 10 of their 12 Bayview battles to date.
One of those 10 wins came against latest opponents Bonnyrigg Rose, with Campbell's side claiming a resounding 5-0 victory when they played host to the Midlothian-based club earlier in the campaign.
Road losses have been a running theme for the Rose this season, with Calum Elliot’s side coming up short in seven of their 12 away days thus far.
As already mentioned, Bonnyrigg have come away empty-handed from each of their last five league games away from home, losing by at least two goals on each occasion.
Given that a trip to high-flying East Fife will represent an upgrade on recent opposition that the Bonnyrigg have faced on the road, the home team hold plenty of appeal with a -0.75 start on Saturday afternoon.
