After delivering another winning combination on Sunday, SlipsTips shares a Bet Builder ahead of Hearts’ clash with Rangers in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday night.

Hearts vs Rangers (Wednesday, 20:00)

The standout fixture in the Scottish Premiership this midweek sees Hearts host Rangers at Tynecastle.

Derek McInnes returns to his former club as Rangers manager for the first time since coming agonisingly close to steering Hearts to the title last season, only for Celtic to deny them on the final day.

Rangers remain second after sweeping aside St Johnstone 4-0 on Saturday, while Hearts returned to winning ways with a hard-fought 2-0 victory away at Motherwell on Sunday.

Both Teams To Receive a Card

For the first leg of the Bet Builder, I’m backing both teams to receive a card in what could be a fiery battle under the Tynecastle lights.

Hearts and Rangers have been around the middle of the pack for yellow cards in the Scottish Premiership this season, averaging 1.70 and 1.60 per game respectively. While neither side has been among the division’s most carded teams, both teams have received a card in each of Hearts’ last six league matches and Rangers’ last five top-flight fixtures.

On top of all that, each side picked up at least one yellow card in all four of the pair’s Scottish Premiership meetings last season, which adds to the appeal of siding with a repeat in this capital clash.

Over 3 Cards

The second selection ties in neatly with the first, as I’m also backing over three match cards. This has all the makings of a hard-hitting contest, particularly with Derek McInnes returning to Tynecastle and neither side able to afford to drop points and lose further ground on league leaders Celtic.

Hearts’ Scottish Premiership fixtures have averaged 4.50 cards per game this season, including eight yellow cards in Sunday’s 2-0 win at Motherwell. There have been plenty of bookings in other games too, with four cards shown in the Jam Tarts' 7-1 defeat at Celtic and at least four in each of their last two top-flight matches at Tynecastle.

As for Rangers, they have seen four or more cards in each of their last two league trips too, so over three match cards looks a strong addition to the Bet Builder.

Over 7 Corners

I’ll wrap up the Bet Builder by siding with over 7.5 match corners.

Hearts and Rangers are among the strongest corner performers in the Scottish Premiership this season, averaging 6.70 and 7.09 per game respectively. The overall corner counts in their matches are just as notable, with Rangers’ games producing an average of 12.00 per 90 and Hearts’ not far behind at 10.50.

With both teams capable of contributing to the flag kick count, over 7.5 corners looks a strong final leg for what should be an action-packed contest in the capital.

These three selections combine to form a 4/5 Bet Builder that offers good value.
