Bet 1 – Halifax vs Barrow – Tuesday 27th October at 19:45
FC Halifax Town welcome Barrow to The Shay on Tuesday evening. The hosts have been particularly reliable in front of goal this season, and their attacking numbers suggest they are well placed to extend that record against a visiting side struggling to keep clean sheets on the road.
Halifax have scored in all seven home league matches, registering 15 goals at an average of 2.14 per game. Their attacking performances are supported by an impressive home xG average of 1.79, indicating that their scoring record is underpinned by a consistent ability to create opportunities.
The Shaymen are averaging 13.57 shots and seven shots on target per home fixture. Their attacking threat has also translated into goals against a variety of opponents, including four against Tamworth and Gateshead, alongside three against AFC Hornchurch.
Barrow's away defensive record provides further encouragement. The visitors have conceded in all seven league matches on their travels, allowing 11 goals at an average of 1.57 per game. Their away xGA stands at 1.43, suggesting opposition teams are regularly creating worthwhile scoring opportunities.
The visitors are also conceding an average of 9.14 shots and 5.43 shots on target per away match. That is a particularly concerning statistic when facing Halifax's productive attack, which has consistently tested opposition goalkeepers at The Shay.
The wider goals statistics also favour the hosts. Halifax's home fixtures have produced over 1.5 goals in 86% of matches, while Barrow's away games have reached the same mark in 86%. Both teams have also recorded a 71% BTTS rate in their respective home and away fixtures.
At 2/9, Halifax to score at least once is my preferred selection. Their perfect home scoring record, strong xG figures and consistent shooting output combine favourably with Barrow's failure to register an away clean sheet this season.
