The heavy ground horses didn't come up with the goods on Monday at Redcar and Leicester.

I don't think Dinah Myte was given the best of rides, but when you saw how easily the winner got the job done, nothing was beating him. Coming from off the pace in that race was impossible, but Red Derek in third did recover a lot of ground. The jockey on that horse was given a ten-day ban for being a ‘non-trier' on the horse.

Impressor missed the places by a couple of places, but was also a couple of lengths behind fourth.

Water Angel 4/1 – Catterick 1.10

I don't think you can take the win of By Jove Grace as good as being worthy of a 6/4 shot. She won nicely on testing ground in a maiden, but transitioning to handicaps makes life a little more difficult.

Dylan Cunha's Harry Angel colt is making his handicap debut, and I like the profile of this horse. He has improved with every run under his belt, and I thought his run last time out was a career best by quite a big margin. He ran on good to soft last time out, which was a much slower surface than any of his other two runs, so I get the feeling that he wants soft ground.

He was a little coltish last time out, swerving when he came under pressure, but Dylan has opted for headgear to try and keep him on the straight and narrow.

Dylan's record with juveniles at Catterick is impressive, with three winners from six runners, producing a profit of +4.88.

Sassicaia 2/1 – Catterick 4.10

Owen Burrows is flying at the moment, and despite backing one of his losers in France over the weekend, I still want to be on side whilst he is in form.

His horse hasn't progressed the way you'd expect after winning on his first run, but he hasn't been terrible in defeat. In my opinion, this looks like one of the easiest opportunities he's had since transitioning to handicaps, and his chances of winning all comes down to handling the ground.

We don't know for certain if he'll handle the ground, but his pedigree points towards him being fine with it. The Dam won on soft ground over 1m 6f and was decent on heavy ground too. His sire, St Marks Basilica, was also very good on a testing surface.

I don't think the step up to 1m 4f will be an issue given the Dam was a strong stayer.
