After delivering a winning selection in his featured column on Thursday night, SlipsTips is back with a Bet Builder ahead of Arsenal’s encounter with Everton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Arsenal vs Everton (Saturday, 15:00)
Arsenal return to Premier League action with a home game against Everton at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Gunners have seen their hopes of Premier League glory fade following last week’s 1-1 draw away at Everton.
Meanwhile, Everton will enter this match off the back of a 4-0 win over Wolves last midweek.
I've already covered this clash in a separate match preview but I’m also going to propose a play on a Bet Builder double.
Arsenal to Win
I’m keeping it nice and simple with the first leg of the Bet Builder back by backing Arsenal to claim top honours on Saturday afternoon. The Gunners have been extremely efficient in dealing with this type of assignment in recent years. In fact, Mikel Arteta’s men have lost just four of their last 41 Premier League home games, banking maximum points from a mightily impressive 34 of those contests. On top of that, Arsenal are one of only two teams in the top-flight that have yet to taste defeat on home turf this term.
That doesn’t augur well for an Everton team that tend to do the majority of their best work at Goodison Park. The Toffees have triumphed in just one of their seven Premier League away days this season, the most recent of which saw them crash to a 4-0 defeat at Manchester United. That means Sean Dyche’s side have now failed to emerge victorious from 37 of their last 45 top-flight road trips, not to mention they have come away empty-handed from 10 of their last 11 visits to the Emirates.
Martin Odegaard To Be Fouled 1 Or More Times
Martin Odegaard continues to be somewhat of a foul magnet for Arsenal this season and there is plenty of scope for that trend to continue against Everton on Saturday. The Gunners skipper has earned his side a set piece in each of his eight Premier League outings this season so far. The classy Arsenal playmaker was also fouled during his side’s recent 5-1 win over Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League. Furthermore, Odegaard was unfairly challenged six times across his two appearances for Norway in the Nations League earlier this year.
Everton have a combative midfield duo in the shape of Idrissa Gueye and Orel Mangala, both of whom regularly find themselves on the referee’s radar, and that only adds to the appeal of backing Arsenal ace Odegaard to draw a minimum of one foul from the Toffees during this tussle.
